Well I'm going to blame him he was part of the problem every high school kid in America knows when the clock is winding down your head out of bounds that's football 101.

That said there's plenty of blame to go around starting with the team who once again wasn't prepared to play game opening day there were mental mistakes all over the field that's on red. Then there's an OC who has developed a play counts on Whitten as your speed guy. I still can't believe he's motioning people and parking them right behind the hole he's going to run through. The Giants were plugging the middle yet we refused to attack the outside or throw Five wides at them.
We had free looking like a turnstile yet we're reluctant to move the pocket.

And then there's rod who refuses to use the speed he has in the back 7 and attack people, until he has to and then it's too late.

So yeah there's plenty of blame to go around and if we keep up with this same pattern will get the same results game after game season after season
I agree with this, fair and accurate assessment. Twill should shoulder part of the blame for sure, I just meant he shouldn't receive all of the blame.

I still think we played a great game against an underestimated very good NY defense. I like where we're headed.

You are crying about blaming TWill and yet you give zero reason not to blame TWill. You are just saying stop.

I thought the other reasons were obvious. Do I really need to elaborate? There's about 20 other threads that already address this.

-coaching, play calling, alleged best o line in football, dez, dak, etc

Great GIF BTW :)

Why is Twill the scape goat? Because he's not a marquee player? Everyone is acting like he dropped the Super Bowl winning pass. It was one game and didn't even guarantee a win. I'm sure if that was Romo or Witten who potentially lost a 60-65 yard FG opportunity it wouldn't even be an issue. Please stop blaming Twill for this loss.

T. Will is not the reason we lost.

Lack of big plays offensively and giving up big plays defensively is why we lost.

We dominated the game. When the Giants did have it they made big plays.

Two...or five wrongs don't make a right. Williams's mistake was unforgivable, as was Martin's false start. We need to get into field goal position on our final drive and what do we do? Commit the most preventable penalty there is and then fail to get out of bounds when there is virtually no time on the clock.

I'm glad and thankful for everyone's responses. Don't get me wrong, TWill should be partly to blame but a very small part IMO. The hatred for him last night was ridiculous. It was a team loss and I think lost people posting here acknowledged that.

If we score a TD on just one of those FG drives, everything else being the same, TWills play does not matter. Its a team loss. Cant blame one player.

If there was one play to blame, which there really wasn't, it was the Beasley drop of an easy td. I knew that would haunt us.

Lots of blame to go around.
Dez & Cole TD drops, Zek not showing up.
That said these guys get paid millions to use their hands, feet and yes head.
Twill pulled a bone head move.

Please. Nobody would give any player a pass for such stupidity. It wasnt an athletic error. He didnt drop a pass or fail to get open. He simply failed to get out of bounds when that was the goal after the catch. It was stupid and considering how well Bailey was kicking I like our odds to hit that.

You don't understand - Williams's mistake represents so much more than a single error in judgement. We had no time left. How does he not know that?? It was like he was utterly unaware of reality. The ONLY thing that mattered was getting out of bounds and he was completely oblivious to that single thing. It was obvious to every single human being watching the game, including those who have never played a down of football in their lives.

How does he not know to get out of bounds???????

I like the odds too but he's not the ONLY reason we lost. That's all I meant.

I understand perfectly well but thanks for the clarification. Perhaps you don't understand. All I'm saying is he was one small reason why we failed. To blame the entire game on him and act like the FG would have been automatic (even if probable) is ridiculous.

TWill is garbage. Our entire receiving core is decidedly below average.

To not know to go out of bounds in inexcusable when you have been in the league for four years. I learned by the time I was 8 to stop the clock from playing Madden.

He should absolutely know and be held accountable.
Before the game some zoners where claiming that the Cowboys receiving Corp for superior to OBJ, Cruz, and Shepard. Lol. I don't think so. We greatly over value our guys.

Good post

He's another dumb player we drafted high.

I would send him packing asap.

Dumb doesn't even seem to cover it. A mistake like that points to someone who is so mentally deficient, they shouldn't be allowed to eat with real silverware.
