Stop using weak DE as DTs

Yo these coaches needs to let go of their ego philosophy and start using true DTs & NTs to maintain run support. Too many times I saw in running plays weak Crawford, Griffen, Smith try to play big boy and get tossed like trash cans. We need another DT to pair up with POE who get worn out with double teams.

Yup....I agree. Amazing we still have a disconnect between our coaching staff...and the personnel we have. We got 4-3 players...yet Nolan insists on running a 3-4 defense. Hell...he even was using our Nickle scheme...as a 3-4 front. I guess he figured....if you can't beat them....baffle them.

We had one buddy. McCoy was the big offseason FA signing and he got hurt. AFter McCoy went down the push in the middle went down the tubes.

it was a devastating thing for the team. But my thing is, we drafted Gallimore with an early pick, so why not see what he has and start him? His is a big boy and can hold the point I think. He understands leverage well, and was a wrestler in college. I think its time.

Personally I don't think he is ready but we will see. Doesn't help that our safeties and Lbers are a bunch of softies. Nobody shooting through the gaps or making jarring tackles in there.

I'm simply astonished that they could not adjust to the fact that the Rams were simply playing small ball to keep it away from our offense. Screens, Off-tackle run, jet sweep, playaction short passes. Why in the world are we dropping so deep in coverage and all they were doing was attacking our LB's who repeatedly jumped on the first thing they saw leaving guys wide open without any within 15 yards of them. Nolan got his milk and cookies snatched last night.

I think Griffen was only moving inside on passing downs. I don't think Smith was playing inside at all.

Gallimore played 6 defensive snaps, so very little, but he did play.
