One thing that even coach MM said after half time is that the NYJ gashed us with their QB's ability to use his legs. What can be done before we face another qb who is even better with his legs. Often times we get right there with MULTIPLE players, but somehow they miss the QB, and the opposing QB is running right up the middle. Wilson at one point was the leading rusher in the game, we can't let this happen. I'm not downplaying our win, but bringing to light that we need to fix this ongoing issue. Please give your thoughts

Not worried about Wilson's runs. Most were when we were playing bend dont break or prevent, which ever you want to call it. Letting them waste time before half.

What I saw was we were coming after the pass 100%. DTs were rushing upfield rather than holding interior gaps. Left a nice space on a few plays for Wilson to sneak through. We adjusted for it and it didn't continue.

That is my perceived weakness that will kill this team when we face QB’s like Allen and Hurts. We need to send spies on these QBs more often.

Plenty you CAN do, the problem with the Cowboys defense is DQ seems to use a spy as a last resort and the play a ton of man coverage. Typically against mobile QBs you want either a spy (but now you're down a man in coverage) or you're sitting in a zone or some sort of combo coverage so that you're LBs/DBs are facing the qb.

I don't hate the approach DQ takes with this as he almost encourages mobile QBs to beat them with his legs and will only adjust if they are getting gashed consistently....or at least that's what we saw last year. Reason i don't hate this is that now you're qb is going to get beat up a bit, and I would rather get gashed that way instead of 10-15 yard throws. It can become an issue against teams like Philly who probably has the best true dual threat qb set up when you combine the qbs skillset and supporting cast. I would expect that we probably see a little bit of a different game plan rolled out when we do play Philly this year though as that is a different animal.

Daniel Jones is one of the top running QB's. We held him to 13 carries for 43 yards. That comes to 3.3 YPC. I'll take that all day if you want your QB taking some extra hits.

The goal should be to end the game with the opposing QB as the leading rusher. That means you took them out of their plan. No QB is going to beat a good team on running alone.

I’m not concerned with it.

Ask yourself this…when has a guy killed us that is considered mobile? Hurts doesn’t really kill us.

To me Dan does a good job of eliminating what a team wants to do with a mobile qb. Wilson isn’t a mobile guy. He broke some runs off as does Dan Jones….this defense is legit. They can take that away if need be.

Yep. Jets fans are pissed Wilson led them in rushing and I’ll take it especially if you shut down Cook and Hall.
