This is something every defense struggles with. It is not easy stopping running QBs once the break the pocket. If it was easy to stop, there wouldn't be high draft picks used on running QBs who are avg throwers
You're right .. it happens around the league, and it's just that easy.

- Running QBs just break down your defense, when the defense is so spread out- trying to cover receivers all over.

- And even if spying QB with one guy, it's still very difficult to control and coral him with only one sole guy, depending upon the speed skills of that running QB. ala L. Jackson, Josh Allen, Anthony Richardson, Justin Fields, D. Watson, Danny Dimes, etc.

- The late John Madden used to say
" it's two things defenses fear the most, Speed and a running QB "

So far seems like it only happens one series and then defense adjusts. Giants game was the first series, Jets game it was the two minute drill end of first half.

Took Boys Defense a quarter or so to figure it out last year with most mobile QBs, and they're better this year. Not worried. But yeah, only thing I can see so far they need to work on for D. Offense needs to finetune that red zone execution.

One thing that even coach MM said after half time is that the NYJ gashed us with their QB's ability to use his legs. What can be done before we face another qb who is even better with his legs. Often times we get right there with MULTIPLE players, but somehow they miss the QB, and the opposing QB is running right up the middle. Wilson at one point was the leading rusher in the game, we can't let this happen. I'm not downplaying our win, but bringing to light that we need to fix this ongoing issue. Please give your thoughts
As the season goes on there will be less qb running as they get crushed.

Daniel Jones leads all Qb's in rushing in the first 2 games. He averaged 3.3 ypc vs the Dallas Cowboys.
