Yes I did, and I'm telling you that had Strahan been a Cowboy he would have been reflexively cheered. Anti-media sentiment in this forum has reached the pathology stage. ESPN, Galloway, Hansen, Reeves, et als are routinely written off as "haters." Some dimwit even had the audacity to a slam an amiable, one-man institution like Frank Luksa. His so-called crime? Disagreeing with Tuna's definition of "rookie." Off with his head! TO blows off practices, arrives late to meetings, falls asleep in meetings, gets into shouting matches with position coaches, drops crucial passes, undercuts his head coach and QB, nearly overdoses ... and the media isn't supposed to notice? Puh-leeze. His "benefit of the doubt" card expired a long long time ago. Poor, misunderstood TO.

Strahan and TO were both wrong, but only one will be vilified here.

Wrong. I slammed T.O. quite often, thank you very much.

Correct. Just like people here are mad at the press for quoting TO accurately, except Strahan is the only one who'll be thrown under the bus. Oh the hypocrisy.

Didn't Strahan's wife say he was living with a guy? I can't exactly recall.

Yes, you are correct or at least I read she insinuated he did......

I don't know what I was put off more by, the fact that Strahan was attempting a double-take by turning the tables to make the media look like they were the ones to blame for what he said or his insistance on shoveling food down his gullet while trying to lecture to a young female reporter in a very demeaning fashion. Did you see how he was trying to inhale his sandwich and then attempting to speak (shout) with a mouth full of food? What an annoying and obnoxious jackhole this guy has become.

Did anybody else notice how everyone in the media immediately declared open season on Strahan after this latest stunt? And it wasn't just the regular media people that went after him, former-sports-guys-turned-media went after him too. The irony here is that this is a fiercely competitive business to be in. Media people are probably some of the worst backstabbers imaginable. They're constantly trying to outhustle/outscoop their counterparts for that one big story - but one thing that they're also noted for is being fiercely loyal to one another (especially when a "jock" attacks one of their own). That's like an outsider attacking a family member (even if it's only a 3rd cousin, twice removed). I mean, you just don't do that sort of thing unless you have some masochistic desire to be cast in a negative light on every media outlet in the country as their "top story" for the next couple of days.

You got to love it if you're a Cowboys fan right now...:laugh2:

Strahan trying to be a leader
Nov 29, 2006 | 5:01PM | report this

It has been difficult for Michael Strahan to be Michael Strahan. He wants to be a vocal leader on the New York Giants, but it’s impossible when you have a Lis Franc foot injury and haven’t played in three straight defeats.

Strahan was called out by an ESPN reporter on Wednesday in the locker room regarding critical comments that Strahan made about receiver Plaxico Burress’ effort on Eli Manning’s ridiculous interception in the final minute of last Sunday’s loss to the Tennessee Titans. Strahan implied that Burress failed to make a good effort on the pass and then seemed to watch and didn’t make a tackle attempt on Titans cornerback Pacman Jones on his WFAN radio interview on Monday.

Strahan was right with his criticism, but many in the New York media don’t like the Pro Bowl player (and vice versa) since his controversial off-season divorce. This isn’t the first time that Burress hasn’t made a strong effort on a Manning pass.

It has been this way in New York. If you speak the truth, you can be crucified. Tiki Barber has been this season and Jeremy Shockey was when he said that the Giants were out-coached in a Week 3 loss in Seattle.

Shockey was right because the defense seemed totally unprepared for Seattle’s four-receiver set that day despite the fact that Seahawks coach Mike Holmgren hinted that he may employ that strategy with the arrival of Deion Branch.

And Barber needs to get as many carries as he can get, especially when Eli Manning is struggling like he has been.

Yes, we hate to see players criticize the coaching staff. It’s not the best way to handle it, regardless of the player’s status.

But Strahan was right to call out Burress. The only downside to it is that Strahan isn’t playing and won’t play in Sunday’s critical NFC East showdown with the Dallas Cowboys.

As much as I hate Strahan I despise the media. Hard to believe anything they say. Dead FS, suicidal WR, and a coach that already retired last year.

I believe there is a special place reserved down there for the media, along with lawyers and used car salesmen=P

She sure did.

"Not that there's anything wrong with that."
