Strahan contemplating retirement
Michael Strahan is officially a holdout, and his holdout might last forever.

The future Hall of Fame defensive end is contemplating retirement, according to Giants GM Jerry Reese and a source close to Strahan. The 35-year-old has been pondering quitting for weeks, according to a source, but did not make up his mind on the holdout until this morning.

got this off the redzone! gotta love it! if he retires that would help us alot!

It's one of two things:

1) wants more money.
2) doesn't want to go through camp.

3) or both (guess that makes it 3).

Every year - same old same old...........................zzzzzz

If he retires, his rights are still property of the Giants. The only way he ends up in a 'Skins uni is if they trade for him.

I agree with Sarge. This is more than likely just a marketing ploy to get more money. It is not a secret that he has been *****ing over a contract extension for quite some time now.

I hope he does, I'm tired of seeing him in the Cowboys backfield. Say what you want about Strahan but he has been a damn good player and a pain in our butt for a long time now.

Well if he does quit, espn will fire emmit(only a matter of time anyway) and bring Strahan in to replace him. The media loves this guy and the space between his teeth even more.

If you want to be the best you gotta beat the best.

Whether Strahan plays or retires makes no difference to me. We need to be able to beat the Giants either way if we're as good as we think we are.

I agree and if he decides to play great I was really just making a point out of how good this guy has been. I know he has played some great games against the Cowboys

Francesa is taking him to task on WFAN right now.

If Strahan does retire I wonder if the Giants end up moving Kiwanuka back from linebacker to defensive end.

I was always a little bummed that when we finally knocked off Philly at their place in 1991 (KMart punt return) that Cunningham was out of the lineup, I think Jerome Brown had already passed, and Buddy was no longer the HC.

Then again, we did that with Beurline and not Aikman.

Like you I want to beat teams without any excuses about this guy or that guy was not there.

Thats when it is the most fun. Those 90's battles with the Niners were absolute classics.

Most fun last year I'm sure for most of us was the Colts game. Its those games where you hope you can win but somewhat fear being blown out because you know the opponent is that good.

When the team walks off the field with a W you know it really means something.

He's not going to retire. He just wants that last bonus payment. His wife cleaned him out in the divorce.

He's at the end of his career.

and the Giants aren't about to make up to him what he's lost in alimony.

but I guess you can't blame him for "trying".;)

My guess is inevitably he takes his four million this season (which at this stage of his career, is probably at least one mill more than he's actually worth).

You should hear all these giant fans on WFAN turning on him, as if he's done nothing for the orginzation.
