Anyone seen this?
I've seen Grizzly Man and that guy was a little nuts, really. Not just saying that because of the bears but because he was just a little off. I know that this guy felt impervious to attack but sadly he wasn't.
Anyway, this show is about a guy in Alaska named Charlie.
This guy isn't unstable like Grizzly Man but he's still nuts in the sense of living with bears.
I guess this guy has lived in a remote cabin for 20+ years and he has multiple bears all over his property who come up to his windows and onto his decks.
This guy has such an intimate relationship with the bears that it is really unbelievable. More so than I ever saw in the movie Grizzly Man.
In the episode I'm watching, a hunter comes onto his property and Charlie goes out there to confront the guy. After a heated discussion, Charlie takes the guy through his property as a bunch of bears just walk around them, with a couple of them coming over to Charlie and begging for attention the way a dog would.
Absolutely amazing. He isn't trying to domesticate them, he just has a level of trust with them that allows him to exist alongside them.
The camera in the episode I saw wasn't so lucky. He was trying to get some good footage from a tree and a bear climbed up after him in an instant and nipped him in the foot. Worst damn nip I ever say but being that there was only 1 hole and a small gash, I'd say he is lucky.
Pretty cool. Saw a preview for the next episode and the guy pretty stands his ground at a charging Grizzly. NUTS!
I know there is a poster from Alaska, can't remember who right now but was wondering what his opinion of the guy was.
