Strategy for Injured Secondary Players?

This is my biggest worry. A lot hinges on Elam, Carson, Bland, Thomas etcetera.

My question is, what if it doesn't work out? Is there another plan?

I'm 80 percent sure they'll sign Gilmore, which I think is a good idea.

Bland in the slot. But what if Bland gets injured or Elam? It's bound to happen.

We'd be fine if we were healthy, but we're not. An injury or two and we could be in real trouble to start the season.
strategy =Prayer lol

hope?

You have to hope that whoever you have in there temporarily can hold up long enough to get your starters back and that may be the pass rush is so good that it hides some of this until then..

Or you hope they find some insurance either now or at cut downs they're going to need to bring in a veteran corner.....

Butler Diggs and revel all hoping to get back and prayer's no one else gets hurt, Carson also had his shoulder worked on recently..

that a lot to put on hall, Elam, booth, Pride, and the others other than Bland.

Interested in hearing why you don't think Gilly is a good idea??? To me the age issue is a major factor, but is he probably the best person out there right now, most likely
Where did I say he wasn't??

Gilmore is a very good idea, imo.

The house is on fire for two reasons….Jerry is still around, and anyone can see the run defense isn’t good enough, which will inevitably be the downfall of the season…per usual….which I don’t expect to change because it’s clearly an organizational philosophy that stopping the run isn’t important.
I think you're underestimating the impact Eberflus will have on the run defense. The scheme is different than anything we've done before.

I knew you were going to take my question in an offensive manner uhhhhh I can't catch a break around here
I don't understand what you mean. I wasn't offended. More confused because I specifically said it was a good idea.

I'm not that easily offended though. You'll need to try harder if that's the goal.

I don't have that kind of time in my life to come on here and insult posters, even though it happens to me it's never that serious. Let me re-read your comment and say this again! Good idea or bad idea who cares lol, we need depth/help on this team, his leadership would be awesome for our young room

You're good in my book. I have some time, but not the energy to spend on hating and silly beefs.

Then I found this.......

Tennessee Titans:
On May 13, 2025, Oruwariye signed with the Tennessee Titans

Seems the Cowboys need to update their own website!
I believe he was injured last year. Which is why it took a while for him to get signed.
I was thinking Dallas was waiting to sign him, but were waiting on his recovery.
I guess after the draft, getting Revel and trading for Elam, they decided to move on. Or he chose to move on.

I think he looked decent at times last year. But wasn't he the one that screwed up the blocked punt. And basically cost them the game against the Bengals.

No what he's called his insurance...

I mean it literally is a short handed room to be in right now , too many??????

You need something to fall back on there was somebody else people were talking about named Hilton...

I don't know who that is but a veteran is necessary to stabilize this room, so I don't call it a stopper because maybe you don't start him, maybe you bring him in and have him play nickel ,and then if there's a problem someone's getting toasted or an injury, then you move him outside and play him every snap until Butler and Diggs return, but we need insurance this is the one position on the team with the biggest question mark in my opinion there's too many injuries across all of them...
And there lays the issue. He will want money, and want to compete to start.
You don't overpay a vet players at thisppoint to come in to mentor the other players. They do not wan that.
May be better off hiring him as a coach at that point.

And I honestly do not think he can be any better than who they have. He is a name at this point that fans think can be a difference maker. Do not make moves just to make moves.

I think the plan is to hold on until Diggs and Revel are ready for the November stretch run. Elam is probably the most talented corner on the roster.
