The Cowboys are on a 7 game winning streak. A win Sunday versus the Eagles would tie the franchise record for the longest in season win streak. The 1977 Cowboys won the first 8 games of the season. A win versus the Eagles ties that mark.

The Cowboys have 2 regular season win streaks of 9 games. In 1971, the Cowboys won their last 7 games, then the first 2 of 1972. In 1978 the Cowboys won their last 6 games, then the first 3 games of 1979.

If you include the post season the Cowboys won 10 in a row beginning with the last 5 games of the 1993 season, the 3 post season wins including Super Bowl XVIII, and the first 2 games of 1994.

The longest win streak in a single season is the last 7 games of the 1971 regular season and the 3 wins in the post season for 10 games.

If you throw in the first 2 games of 1972 that makes 12 games in a row that the Cowboys won for the longest streak of wins in team history.

If the Cowboys win the rest of their regular season games the current streak would reach 10 games. Reaching the Super Bowl would break the franchise all time streak and be 13 straight games.

For the sky is falling crowd, the Cowboys have two 10 losses streaks. The first 10 games in franchise history in 1960, and in Tom Landry's final season, 1988, games 5 through 14 of that season.

We really have so much to play for in the next 2 regular season games.

It can set us up nicely.

It has been an amazing ride. I wish EVERYONE could sit back and enjoy what we have right now.

Romo has spoiled the mob though.

They wanna see the defense match the brilliance that has been Tony Romo.

Unfortunately they forgot the times the defense stepped up and bailed out the offense (a la Buffalo - but they are so bad:rolleyes:). Or when they finally came up huge in the Detroit game on 3rd down with 2 minutes and change left on the clock to get the ball back.

EDIT: Was adding to the sky is falling crowd :)

We just need to be pumped up against the Eagles tomorrow.

Last season versus the Eagles was a fiasco.

But this time around, we're definitely the better team. We just need to go out there and play like that.

Talk about ruining a Christmas. I was such a Grinch after that game.

Yhea, their OL manhandled our DL to start with . . . . It was ugly.

We just can't afford to come out flat versus these guys. It would be so sweet to sweep them after they have generally dominated us for several years . . . .

Plus, another victory against them let's them finally understand that the dominance of the NFC East has changed! The NFC East goes through Dallas now.

We should make a statement.

Back when we were playing the Bills, I bet the owner of the barber shop where I get my hair cut (a Bills fan) that Dallas would win against Buffalo.

When I went to collect my free haircut he wanted double or nothing. He bet me the Bills would play the Patriots closer than we had. So New England had to win by 22 or more points. They did.

I got my 2nd free haircut Thursday after work. One of the barbers there is an Eagles fan, Billy. I tried to bet Billy a 3rd free haircut but he wanted no part of the bet. Not even if I gave him 7 1/2 points.

Those '88 and '89 teams were brutal. It's much nicer being on the winning side again.

Here's another one:

Most consecutive reg season road wins: 10 (1968-69)
2006-07: We're at 9 straight road wins with 2 more road games to play.

The only good thing about those seasons was no one doubted my "fanhood" of the Cowboys. If I wore Cowboys stuff people said "you must be a real fan." That was kind of cool.

That's a great point. I remember being at a party the year after the '89 season and telling somebody I watched every game of that 1-15 season.

It is what it is, I guess. :D

I had a Herschel Walker jersey. People kept asking me if I got it on sale. Then when we traded him I was sick at first, because he was so good. I got over it in a big time hurry.

:laugh2:

Makes the good times that much better, though.

Having been though some rough seasons makes me truly appreciate this season. I can't say enough just how good this team is, yes, we do have weakness but who doesn't, even patsies have weakness.

Never in my wildest dream, I would have guessed that we'd be 12-1, unbeaten on the road and divisional games thus far, and having 5-win streak and 7-win streak.

This was a great stat. I noticed that 1968 was our only undefeated season on the road as we went 7-0.

It prompted me to check longest home streak too, even though we have a loss at home this year to the Patriots.

In 1980 and 1981 we were undefeated at home, 8-0. The only times in our History where we pulled that off. We won the final 2 home games of 1979, then lost our home opener in 1982. Still, that is 18 straight home wins.

Some should really sit back and enjoy, you never know when we will see this again. Don't ever take a great year for granted.

Worthwhile Thread Hos, good job.

as for that 88-89 teams, I'm right there with you. I FORCED myself to watch every game, telling myself "it's going to get better"

little did I know.

Maybe that's why I'm so positive about this season when that isn't natural for me.

BTW, remember the year we went 6-0 with Danny White at the helm, he got injured, and was it Steve Pelleur (sp?) who tanked us? 84? 86? crap. That year I thought we were going all the way with Danny and his stats, finally. what a bummer

2007 has so far proven to be a sweet, sweet NFL vintage.
