Great card tonight for us MMA fans.

* Champ Dan Henderson vs. Fedor Emelianenko (heavyweight non-title fight)
* Champ Marloes Coenen vs. Miesha Tate (for women's bantamweight title)
* Tim Kennedy vs. Robbie Lawler
* Paul Daley vs. Tyron Woodley
* Tarec Saffiedine vs. Scott Smith

Fedor came in about 10lbs lighter than he normally weighs and he looked great. Lost quite a bit of the berry belly and looks in much better shape. Still doesn't look like a MMA fighter, but he looks good for Fedor standards.

Still have to wonder if Fedor is impressive tomorrow if he will gear up for a run at 205. If he can make the cut successfully, I think he can make an incredible impact in that division. Not as many devastating ground fighters as there is currently at HW. Fedor with his speed and power at LHW =

Pretty solid card. I'm interested to see what Fedor might have left with this weight loss and just what you said above there. A potential move down to 205 if he can cut the weight needed.

Fedor is done at that weight class. You can look in his face and tell the Fedor of old just isn't there anymore. I'm going to miss that dude.

Absolutely disappointing night of fights so far. One sided beatdown of Scott Smith, and two pretty boring wrestling affairs.

For some reason, the women usually put on more exciting fights than the men. Lets hope they don't disappoint.

That was awesome, about as wild a fight as you're ever going to see

Henderson is a bad bad dude, looked like he was done then out of no where that uppercut on the ground

Gotta agree with Fedor, stoppage was a bit too early. Fedor was rolling off his stomach when Herb stepped in. Should note that Fedor was undoubtedly rocked, and even looked out for a split-second, but he came back quickly as shown by him rolling to defend.

But man, Fedor acts like he hasn't trained his ground game in a while. Sloppy against Werdum and sloppy against Hendo to let him get behind him that easily. Years ago Fedor had as tight a ground game as anyone in MMA. Now he is getting excited and allowing simple mistakes to cost him.

Looked like he was out after that first uppercut then the next 2 shots woke him back up. Agree with the stoppage Henderson would have hurt him bad

Looked like Fedor had victory in his grasp only to get "pushed" forward and rocked by Hendo. Not sure how he let that happen. I think the stoppage was warranted. He looked unconscious until subsequent blows woke him up.

Definitely rocked, and you could even say he was out when he faceplanted. But he rolled as Dean was stepping in, had his hands up to defend, and even sat up quickly as Hendo backed off.

I don't doubt he was out initially for a split-second, but he definitely was aware as Dean stepped in.

In any case, Fedor's eye was jacked and was only going to get worse. With a closed eye against someone who has the power of Henderson, it wasn't likely going to end well for Fedor save for a lucky punch.

I should also add with this edit, anyone who thinks Fedor may be done as a fighter needs their head checked. Fedor needs two things ..

1.) He needs his eye checked by a specialist. It's obvious his eye didn't heal properly from the Silva fight, and he needs to get it thoroughly checked and fixed.

2.) He needs to go back to basics. Fedor of 4-5 years ago would have been patient against Werdum and Hendo, making sure he secured position and not allowing simple mistakes to happen. Both of the Werdum and Hendo losses were off the simple fact Fedor wasn't patient and didn't slow himself down to secure his position. And in both those fights, his insane aggression and wanting to stop the fight so quickly has cost him.

I won't get it twisted against Silva though - that dude flat out wrecked Fedor and there was no question about that fight. Fedor was simply dominated by a much bigger fighter.

But the other two recent losses can be attributed to just simple bad habits Fedor has developed more than Fedor being 'washed up' or anything like that.

IMO, Fedor should take his time to get his eye checked. During that time he should focus on continuing his weight cut to get to 205. And hopefully, M1 comes down from their demands so the Fedor/UFC marriage can finally work.

Nice job by Hendo.

That's 3 losses in a row, I believe, for Fedor now. I think his time is pretty much done at this point.

Why did Alistair Overeem pull out of tournament???

Injury?

Maybe UFC vs Strikeforce?

Overeem VS (Dos Santos vs Cain) Winner

Why isnt Hendo in UFC?

i think him and Dana are pissed at one another over the situation with the Middleweight Title.

When he beat Bisping a couple years ago it was supposed to have made him the #1 contender, and given him a title shot.

Instead White signed Vitor and gave him the shot at the title. Hendo, from what I understand, refused to resign after that cause White broke his word.

Of course then Vitor had to pull out, last minute, with injury and that led to that awful fight where Anderson Silva simply clowned Mia for 5 rounds.

How many feuds does this guy have? That seems to happen way too often w/ Dana. He gets emotional over things and it can hurt the product.

In the end it wont matter b/c UFC has way too much momentum and will be king, but it can be better IMO.

Any product can be better because there are no perfect products.

Dan Henderson will likely wind up back in UFC, at some point, but yeah Dana tends to get emotional I guess and it effects how he can deal with certain guys.

Still he and Tito patched it up, and can work together again, so I'm sure him and Dan can and will as well.
