There is a Garth Brooks tune that has the following lyrics:

"Sometimes God's greatests gifts are unanswered prayers".

Well if any "Zoners" were to have prayed about the draft, some of the prayers may have been for the dream scenario to unfold and have Cooper or Warmack fall to us at #18. If that was the case we would all likely be giddy about getting who we wanted, but there is a good possibility we would NOT have Terrance Williams on the roster.

What if Terrance Williams turns out to be the next Hall of Fame receiver for the Dallas Cowboys? Then we can look back on the draft and say that things did not appear to fall our way, but in hindsight they really did. Jerry Jones will appear to have been artful in his draft decision making to move down, and everything will appear wonderful.

Here is to hoping that the fact that we didn't get the guys we wanted lead to getting the guys we should have been wanting which who Frederick and Williams.

Something to think about.

:)

What if Eric Reid turns out to be a Hall of Fame safety? He was drafted with the #18 pick that we traded away. And it's not like we didn't need a safety going into the draft. I think Eric Reid being a Hall of Famer is more likely than Terrance Williams.

What if Dallas drafted Randy Moss? What if pass interference was called on Deion Sanders in 1994 NFC Championship game? What if Mike Ditka ran for the U.S. Senate from the state of Illinois in 2004? What ifs can be fun, good, or bad.

The chances of Terrance Williams being picked at 74-79 are probably not too good. There's no telling who you wouldn't have had. You might have gotten Williams at 80 and missed out on Wilcox. Or got Wilcox in the 4th and missed on Webb.

Whatever. I'll take Warmack or Cooper with the first pick.

Of course you would TODAY, but that wasn't my original point. :)

The team also wanted Warmack or Cooper with the first pick.

My guess is that other teams' fans were praying to the same god.

I do think he can be a legit #1/#2 guy that's, say, consistently a top 30 receiver in the league.

How many guys with that kind of speed, that kind of size, with that kind of college production end up not being good in the NFL? I can't think of many.
