Strong gut feeling at 20

I have a strong gut feeling at #20 the Cowboys have targeted LB Jacob Rodriguez. I just don't see Dallas moving pick 20 to move up so I'm thinking they stay at 12 and 20. I think at 12 they just set and pick the best Defensive player they need that is still on the board. I believe at 20 it will be Rodriguez.

I hope you're right.

I understand the smart money says trade down and then get him, but ive convinced myself if we dont get him or Allen at 20 they will be gone before we pick again.

I agree. If you like a player, and you have a clear positional need, don’t out-think yourself.

Take him. Rodriguez at 20 might make some people cringe bc of positional value, but as far as a good fit and a solid player— hard to argue against it

For what it’s worth, the consensus mock drafts have both moving up into the bottom part of Round 1. So I think you’re right, if you don’t take them at 20, you’re not getting them.

Agree.

Both picks will be BPA. I have Rodriguez rated higher than most on my board. I'd be OK taking him between 12-20 if we dropped down a couple spots from 12. Hes that good.

I really believe that at some point they are going to trade down just a little to pick up another day#2 pick.
I am with this. Trade down at 12, pick up a 2nd.
The only way they get a 2nd from trading down at 20, if another team wants a players bad enough.

Such as if Ty Simpson drops. And the Jets or Browns want to move up to get him before the Steelers pick at 21.
At that point they may even give a 2027 1st or 2nd. The usual price to trade up for a QB in the 1st round.

Agree. We need a couple more darts

Fits a need but too early IMO.
Yeah it would be early maybe but I bet on Dallas' board they have him very high. The kid is Sean Lee but with no injury concerns. Leadership for days and a heat seeker. Smart as a whip. High football IQ. Sometimes you identify the player and if that's your guy, you close your eyes and pull the trigger. I don't care if its a little rich. There's no price tag on what he brings to the team day 1. He won't accept loafing.
