Ill go w/ the RB's. Basically the perfect trio. The biggest problem here will be when Choice is averaging 5.0 YPC to Barbers 4.2 and the media starts calling for Barber to be benched. But Barber doesnt talk, so it shouldnt matter.

^agreed^...either that or Quarterback, can't argue with a pro bowl QB and a backup who passed for 4000 yards a couple years ago...not to mention a talented rookie who seems to have IT..(IMO)

It's hardly the "perfect trio". There isn't a bonafide stud in the group, which I'd prefer. In fact, I'm concerned that we don't have a true #1 back. Barber's best season by far was when he was the closer, not the starter. Choice seems like an ok backup and Jones needs a healthy season as the change of pace back.

I disagree. I truly believe any three of our backs could start. They are that talented, IMO.

We may not have a back on the roster capable of handling the load every week for 16 games.

Marion Barber's style isn't fit for that, Felix Jones has been a change of pace runner since hitting college and Tashard Choice only received 20+ carries in one game last season.

But that is the beauty of the Ghidorah backfield.

We shouldn't need any of the three to log 20+ carries in a game unless it just plays out that way.

MB3 can start and split time thereafter to prep for the closer role, Felix will likely see snaps throughout each contest while Choice should also get at least a series each half.

It's an embarrassment of riches in the offensive backfield.

LOL.

Nice argumentation but i think the contract (and so the payed money to a player) and because of this the preasure put up by JJ will be of a much bigger concern to the coaches then a player who runs his mouth or not.

I disagree, i think we have 2 #1 backs possibly all 3

If you are afraid of a running back having a higher YPC average than Barber and the media chiming in about who should be starting, that running back will be Felix Jones, not Tashard Choice.

The difference lies in Felix being viewed, by the media, as a complement, not a starter.

What's impressive about Tashard's numbers is that he put up 5.2 yards per carry in the last 5 games against 4 defenses in top 10 against the rush (3 in the top 5), with an average ranking of 7th. He lit up some of the best defense in the league.

The guy is legit. He would start on most other teams.

I agree with the consensus that RB may be the strongest unit. TE and CB are not too shabby either.

Depth is the best it has been since 1994 in my opinion. Not the sexiest starting lineup of the decade but i believe the most talented overall roster of the 2000s will be 2009.

Three talented qbs, two tested.

Three talent runningbacks.

A deployable fullback.

Three talented tight ends.

Solid but not flashy wideouts with a chip on their shoulders.

An above average oline that has chemistry together when healthy, Flozell probably the weakest link.

Two good kickers, best punter in game.

Above average defensive line with plenty of rotation depth and an outstanding nose tackle.

Loads of talented linebackers to switch up.

Steady and capable but not flashy centerfielder safeties.

A stable full of young, hungry corners being mentored by Terence Newman.

I give the roster an A- if not solid A all around.

Coaching staff is B talent grade in comparison.

So overall Dallas appears to be B+/ A- heading into training camp.

I'll go with the TEs group as the strongest.

I believe Jason Witten is the best TE in the NFL and Martellus Bennett could start for about 20 NFL teams.

He could start for Filthy, NY G (he's better than Boss), Green Bay, Chicago, Minnesota, Detroit, Tampa, Carolina, San Fran, St, Louis, Arizona, Seattle, New Orleans (Shockey has declined).

So basically he's better than every NFC starting TE except Tony Gonzalez and Chris Cooley and the only reason he isn't starting Dallas is because the best tight end of the decade is in front of him.

Now that's just plain silly.

it is possible......not probable but possible

Barber 2514 yrds --37 tds---1 pro bowl---3 seasons 2 as a backup and injured last season

F Jones 8.9 average per carry 3 tds in 30 carries (if he stays healthy and does half that those are starter numbers)

Choice 3 starts 472 yrds 5.1 yrds per against the leagues toughest defenses....

if they all stay healthy and stay on the pace they have set for themselves they could all be starting quality backs......

now explain to me what is so silly

Your arguments say it all. You can probably name 50 running backs in the nfl and take a convincing stat to say, "if they started every game".... I'm not saying I don't like our RB's because I do. I'm just saying we don't have a true #1. Barber is a closer, Choice started 3 games at the end of the season (with fresh legs), and Jones is a compliment who can't handle a medium workload. Having a 3 headed monster puts pressure on a coaching staff to constantly juggle and have to choose the right guy. Most people say start Choice, mix Felix in, then close it out with Barber but it's not that simple.
