To make a long story short, I ordered tickets to the USA/Mexico soccer game at Soldier field on Sunday. I was pleased with myself, thinking that me and a few friends were gonna get beligerently drunk, watch a soccer match and start **** with some Mexicans..all and all a good day. I get my confirmation email today and there last minute ticket pick-up center is SIX miles from soldier field. SIX! From the largest venue in Chicago, which routinely has the hardest to get tickets. Looks like I am going to have to pony up for a cab on top of 18$ extortion fee which makes ticketmaster look generous.

After a little raised voice conversation with some Stub lackeys, I can pick my tickets up any time this weekend, which is nice as the '2 hours before game time rule' is total BS, but it still doesnt excuse the fact that they are SIX miles from the stadium on the fruity side of town.

Huge huge fan of soccer. I cant wait for Sunday. The fact that I had to get tickets from Stubhub for the game says alot. Its sold the **** out, and I cant wait to drape myself in an American flag and start "Wheres your green cards" and "Build the wall" chants to the hordes of Mexican fans.

The Copa America roster should be interesting. Argentina are bringing some huge stars, while Brazil are resting theirs. I dont think Landycakes and the like are going to be included.

Speaking of Landycakes, did you see him whiff on the ball and fall over? That was hilarious.

Landon actually had an interview a few days ago saying he was in fact going

Argentina could win the freakin World Cup with the players they're bringing! gonna be a tough first game against them

if you want a really good forum for US soccer, I post at www.bigsoccer.com (probably the best one on the internet, tons of traffic and good discussion)

Congrats on beating Mexico today. However, Canada got robbed in the semi-final.

I personally think Henry leaving will be good for Arsenal. He's approaching 30 now and likely only has 2-3 peak years left. To get 16 million which could be parlayed into Carlos Tevez sounds like good business to me. As well, and I know this might sound ridiculous, but I think Henry is slightly overrated. He routinely disappears in big games for club and country. I think Vieira was the true inspiration behind that great Arsenal team several years back.

Anyways, United have added a few more weapons and look a good bet to repeat. Go Red Devils!

I'd rather watch the spelling bee than watch soccer. :D
It amuses me to no end how many people call soccer boring, but then many of those same people find a no-hitter in baseball to be the height of excitement. Not directing that at you of course. Just that your comment brought it to mind.

that's why you get stubhub tickets at least 2 days in advance of the event. I've never had a problem with them and always get the seats I'm looking for.

If I want to see people kick a ball around for 2 hours I'll look out my windows at the neighborhood kids.

I just don't find anything about soccer interesting.....sorry JMO

You must have missed the part where I miscalculated it and was more like 15.

Anyway, the game was awesome, and the second goal was a gem.

However, I was constantly assaulted with concessions, thrown beer, and anything else that the mexican fans could throw. I saw numerous fights they started, and they littered the field with garbage when they got done with that.

I never understand why people need to enter a thread where people are talking about soccer just to say they dont like it. Great, who cares.

I second that

and don't bring up a thread title not having the word "soccer" in it, you still don't have to post your BS that nobody cares about.
