Getting to see 2 of the top (Wilfork and Ngata) 3, over the course of the last 8 yrs today vs one another (prob throw Casey Hampton in there too). It's just such a necessity for our 3-4, IMO. I'd say OL, DBs, then mammoth NT in that order in April. Who are some 6-6 350 lbs monsters that we could take in the 3rd this year??

There's a massive NT from Memphis. From what i've read he seems to be a boom-or-bust prospect. Due to his size and athletic ability, he still goes early 2nd or maybe even mid/late 1st.

You're thinking of Dontari Poe.

He'll probably go in the 20s which is where Phil Taylor went last year. If he drops to our 2nd round pick he would be a good pick. He could also be a decent pick if we drop into the mid 20s.

As long as he's not fat and lazy. I need him to be fat, but I need him to be strong and active.

Agreed. We need to be fatter, slower, and less athletic in our front seven imho.

I think we should also look for a white running back who runs a 5.4 40

Apparently you didn't see New England play today, no you didn't. Go and study up on your 3-4 Mr, HUGE NTs are a part of being a 3-4 team. Hey, I can play Romo at receiver, doesn't mean it's a good idea.

I think the point being made is that you might want more of a resume for your nose tackle than just "6-6, 350 pounds"... you see, not everybody at that size is going to turn into a quality NFL NT... in fact, 6-6 is pretty freakin' tall for a nose tackle, that sounds more like an OT...

I want my nose tackle to be 6-3 or under, somewhere around 6-1 would be ideal... he should weigh in at around 330-350 pounds... most important, he should put up good numbers in all the agility drills that are not the 40 yard dash at the combine... IOW, he should be able to move some too... but mostly, he should bench 225 about 40 times, if not more...

So, my profile for a new NT would be stumpy, wide (damn near as wide as he is tall), agile and STRONG...

And with the first pick of the 2012 draft....

We were ranked 7th in run defense last year. Why would a big NT fix our problems in pass defense?

Teams are finding that it is paramount to collapse the interior pocket and rush from the outside to rattle these high profile QBs...

NE's pass defense has sucked this year. I don't understand the comparison.
