The countires bordering the U.S. was bad, I think a lot of them thought it was a trick question or something and they just balked.

One of my employees said" It's February 1st, so it's April Fools day, right?"

I just looked at him and walked off. No joke, actually happened yesterday.

These videos are funny, but so sad. I'm constantly amazed at the "man on the street" videos where simple questions are asked and so many people don't know the answers.

I dunno.

Guy comes up to you and sticks a camera in your face and asks you a question you know should know, it probably gets a little nerve-racking.

These videos are kind of funny but you don't know how many people they asked. What if this is the dumber 10% of answers and they actually asked 100 people.

I know the capital of Washington but who really cares what the capital of Washington is?

I was at a New Years party having some drinks and blanked on the capital of Florida. I can't even remember the context of the discussion but somehow it came up. Of course, all the geniuses around me came with the answer quickly.

Me being me and forgetting that I had just met everyone in the room in the last 15 minutes replied with, "yeah, geometry was never my strongest subject".

Seriously, never drop jokes in front of people you have just met. I knew one person at this party and only went because he was a good friend of mine from childhood. They literally did not catch the fact that I was completely joking and my friend was nowhere near to ease the few seconds of odd stares that followed.

I think that the relevance was that this high school is in the state of Washington and these kids actually live in the capital city of Olympia...

I don't think that is the point though.

Most of these are simple questions that EVERY high schooler should know.

Some of those cannot be trick questions.

It's just plain stupidity.

Did that in high school in my civic class. Asked, what's the capital of NY. A lot of people said NYC. I remember a Jay Leno bit where they went to the street and asked very simple questions, and it was hilarious. One woman was asked, how many stars are on that flag, and he pointed to the American Flag. But it was windy, so the flag was waving, and she said something like, "I can't count, it's moving too fast..." Seriously?? lol

Here's the video:

never, didn't realize there was some bad words in it.

Just do a google search for best of jaywalking and you'll see ebaum's stuff

Do they?

Well then, there's no defending that.

That is so true, I have made that mistake a few times and had it blow up in my face. Things can get really awkward really fast.

Maybe you would get nervous, but in this particular video there were a few times when there were more than two people together. You would figure between the two of them they would know who the VP is.

Even if it is 10 percent of the people they showed it's still a dumb 10 percent. The questions are super easy, especially to students of a high school because you would think they're getting fed this information at least on a semi-regular basis.
