A couple of years ago I stumble across a nice little freebie download called; Just Color Picker. It's a web or graphic designers tool for selecting color. Basically you hover over a color with your mouse pointer you want to save and press AltX and it saves colors to be used later. When I downloaded it a couple of years ago I never had any problems with it. It was just a cool freebie.

Well, I decided I could use this on another PC we have in the house and off I go. I noticed that they had some other "offers" associated with the download this time around, so I was very VERY careful to select the options to opt out of the other downloads, stupid stuff like a browser tool bar addon and they asked if I would like to start using their search engine... really dumb stuff like that.

I'm thinkin' F' no, I don't need any of those things just let me install the color picker, and as I said, I was careful to opt out of the dumb offers.

Well, not only did those jack a**** install their stupid crap on my pc anyway, they made it a supreme hassle to get it off my browser. Uninstalling it didn't even work, I had to run a 48 hour restore point.

Stupid arses.

Thanks for letting me share. :bang2: :D

Stupid piece of crap. I ran a 48 hours restore point last night and this junk software has still taken my browser hostage.

I uninstalled the two original programs, restored my PC back 48 hours and reset my browser search defaults and home page back to Google and this F'dUsoftware won't go away.

Who's got an idea how to get this off my Chrome browser?

:bang2:  :shoot3: :shoot2: :shoot1: :horse: :chop: :whip: :chainsaw: :spanking: :explode:

I'll admit I'm not very familiar with Chrome. Which version of Windows are you using? That's very helpful information. The first thing to do is see if you can remove it through the control panel via add/remove programs. I can also walk you through removing it manually by looking at files and their paths, and through your registry. I really prefer not to do that though. Do you have any anti-virus programs loaded?

You should download GIMP. I would imagine it has a color picker similar to photoshop. In photoshop you can click on any picture and get the exact same color (I assume that is what you are doing?). If not, you can always obtain a "free" copy of Adobe Photoshop. ;)
