I seriously wanted the Nexus 5X to have wireless charging. (I own two new wireless chargers)

Idiots. My current phone is starting to flake and I need a new phone and was waiting for this and now it looks like I might as well get a Nexus 6.

What is the advantage of wireless charging? I haven't looked into it.

Besides the fact that it's wireless? (ie, don't have to connect wires to your phone) It charges faster than most standard charging even with good high amperage chargers. That said, the new USB Type-C chargers are supposed to be even faster than Wireless charging. (Qi) I prefer to just sit my phone on a charging pad though. It's a lot easier than having to plug it in all the time.

I didn't know it was faster. My big thing is if I'm traveling trying to find a surface to lay the phone for the wireless charger might get annoying. As I said, I really haven't looked into it.

Keep a standard charger too that comes with your phone. I always keep one in my computer bag when traveling.

I just ordered the Nexus 5X. Not sure what I'm going to do with my two wireless chargers. Damnit.

I have a standard charger in just about every drawer and bag I have. Those thing multiply. :)

ive got a n5 with 3 wireless chargers...my new moto x pure has turbo charging...i will never go back to wireless because of turbo. man its nice.

When did the human race start becoming so damn lazy? Plug in your phone. Not hard.
Geeeeeeeeeeesh!

The previous Nexus 5 had wireless charging. So the new Nexus 5 and 6 do not?

Once you've had wireless charging, you won't want to go back. It's so much more convenient.

and still seldom have one when i need it. :) but when i don't, i find where i put the last one in case i'd have needed it when i didn't.

I can not get the wireless charger for my Note 4 UNLESS I get a special case for it. The new Note 5 does not need a special case.

I started looking into it because I thought the samsung captain america wireless charging pad looked pretty cool.

So I don't know if you will be able to get a different case that would allow the 5X use the wireless charging option or not, might be something you look into though.

lol. so says the guy who most likely has never used wireless charging. If you had, you wouldn't be saying that.
I actually have and use a wireless charger. I don't really see the difference between plugging your phone or the charging pad into the wall.

What does it save you from doing...taking half a second from plugging in your phone?

It takes more than a half a second (more like 3 seconds) and when I'm at work, it saves that 3 seconds 20-25 times a day. I never have to hunt for the cable on the ground. USB-C on the new phone takes care of the examining which way the plug is, but still. If you don't have wireless or USB-C that's a pain in the *** too.

It works the same way an automatic transmission works. There is less to do. Less to do makes the job easier. If you can't see that, I've got some ocean front property Arizona to sell you.

Also less wear and tear on your charge port in your phone as I have had an iphone, two samsungs and people at work with other brand phones whose charging ports on the phone get loose after a period of time for various reasons.

The current phone I have has a loose one. That was another reason I was looking at wireless charging if my port goes bad. I might just get the case and the wireless pad if it comes down to the port going bad.
