Has anyone else noticed this. Media outlets are adding videos to their articles, but the video is nothing but pictures with text on it and music playing in the background. I mean ***???

That is extremely annoying when you think you're going to see video of something. I was just on the Star Telegram's site looking into Justin Rogers. TCU's high level (five star prior to injury) QB recruit. I'm thinking I might see some video of him, but nope! A stupid video with just pictures and text changing.

Who came up with this idiot new fad?

I do not watch videos. If they cannot be bothered to write it up then I cannot be bothered to watch it

I'd comment, but I haven't seen any that I know of....so I won't even post anything here.

Haven't noticed it in media. But it's rampant on facebook, everyone has a quote of something and it's a video that just plays the quote. I don't understand the point of that.

To each their own. I enjoy being able to keep up with friends and family, to know how they are doing is nice.

The issue I have is all the damn drama on FB and people sharing crap nobody gives a damn about. I avoid FB like the plague. (and most places here other than Off-Topic Zone)

I use Allo and my family has their own channel and my buddies and I share a channel. That's all the updates I need. I definitely don't need to see what they had to eat today, or see people publicly argue about stupid crap.

I on the other hand do use Google Plus. Though I do not really follow anyone that I know personally. I follow mostly Scientist, Engineers, Photographers / Astrophotographers, Amateur Radio topics / people, guitar players, guitar manufacturers. Mostly people who talk about specific subject matter that I find interesting, not their social life / some TV show that I don't give a damn about.

If it doesn't interest me, it's boring to me. Facebook doesn't interest me, because it's boring! :)

Also, there are far too many people from high school and stuff I wouldn't want to contact me. It's bad enough that my brother's on FB and always telling me so and so says hi, and wants to see me. If I wanted to keep in touch, I would've kept in touch.

I have an ex-girlfriend from junior high that used to message me on FB and ask several different times if I could help her with her bills because she is in a difficult situation. Yeah, no. Get a damn job and keep it. You can't pay your bills because you and your BF are bums and don't want to work. You want others to pay your bills for you.

I could get very political here but I won't.

LOOK AT ME LOOK AT ME

I was on Facebook for a short time, or Fakebook as I like to call it, lol, until I realized that every page on there that I went to, and every post I "liked" or commented on, on said page.... that all of my "facebook friends" could see and actually got alerted to! "So and so liked this page....so and so commented this on this page...." Well, I liked to go to pages on there that I didn't really want all of my whole family and friends to see.....so I quit the whole dammed nosy arse site. Fakebook. Nosybook.

They do it for the SEO benefits. Really annoying though.
