If we let McClain walk then I'm all for a MLB at 27. I don't know if Hitchens is truly ready and I think he is best on the strong side.

I would like to see lee play the will and Carter and Durant come back. McClain injury issue and his brains scares me. I just wonder if he would be healthy and hungry after a long term deal.

If Rolo is not signed, Lee will play the Mike. Durant or Carter likely re-signed too and either and/and Hitchens can back up the middle. Drafting a MLB makes no sense, especially with first 2 picks. McKinney is not even a 4-3 ILB, he reeks in coverage.

I have to admit this does not excite me. Lee is a good player when healthy, but I think the middle LB position exposes him far too much. I also preferred the physical tone McClain brought with him that Lee never had. If McCain goes, then I start looking for another middle linebacker and have Lee on the weakside where he can function with a little more space.

Not sure if McKinney is the one I would look at though. Perryman and Kendricks interest me a lot more in terms of fitting in this defense.

I would hate to see Lee back in the middle. I think he needs to stay at the Will so he won't be in so much trash and his risk of injury goes down.
McKinney woukd be just fine as a Mike. Coverage isn't great but niether is McClains.
I also like Kendricks

Lee will last about 3 games playing in the middle.....before the injuries start up and he's nicked for the season. And his play drops off a cliff. I'm all for moving on. But if he is in the plans.....He's your SLB. Let him cover some TE's ...play some nickle downs

LOL at everyone underestimating Lee. Lee was considered by some pundits to be the best player on the D last season, and even before Ware left. Now he's lucky if we let him carry the water.

I think the team has to plan as if he won't be available because based on his injury history it's a high probability. I don't think many people underestimate his talent, just his ability to stay healthy.
