It was anything but easy for the offense on Sunday, as the Cowboys put together 3 consecutive drives of 11 plays or more in the first half, only to have all 3 end short of the goal-line. The frustration level was building after the first 5 drives in this game, after another early DeMarco Murray fumble surrounded by 3 fumbles and a Dan Bailey Field Goal to end the first half.

But, seeing that resilience was something important to witness in 2014. What would the Cowboys do when they would not enjoy offensive success in a game? Would they continue to stick with the plan and the "process" as Jason Garrett likes to say and chip away for an ugly win?

@Sturm1310 I think the TDs in your personnel grouping chart is off, unless I'm reading it wrong.

Also, I think you need to consider changing the blurb about shotgun. We are becoming more efficient in it and less lazy.

The FD/TD blurb is correct, I believe. 2/0 means on 3rd down in that group they converted 2 first downs, 0 touch downs.

I really enjoy that you are keeping track of PA stats. Up until last year, I was tracking the league's PA numbers. And as far as I can tell, there is no correlation between a good running game and a good play-action game. Which is why I never understood DAL failing to use PA, even when their running game was struggling.

No it is not cutting it out. That column has long been for just 3rd Down snaps, but the more we talk this out, the more I see that it should be for all situations - perhaps starting next week. Good point.

In the GIF of TWill's touchdown, note that at the 22-yard line he eases up. At first when the replay ran, I thought it was because he considered Romo had been sacked. But looking at that play now, the safety bit on the pace change, and that may have been the design because of the pump which drew the safety in. Because that is where the separation occurred.

Ooooooh thanks. I never really focused on that column, but I didn't know that the FD/TD column was for third down only. Yes, definitely need one for ALL downs out of set.

I was looking for it because I wanted to understand truly how successfull we have been out of 11/S11. Mostly because I sent you an email last year that mentioned how I think we are setting up for that, and it looks like it is by far our best set.

60% in the 11 set. WOW. That is truly amazing.

And it also speaks to how important Witten is. If he isn't the blocker that he has become, we don't run out of that nearly as effectively.

I think we can rest assured that we shouldn't have too many more 11-play drives end in 3 points and two turnovers the rest of the season. We're a much better team than that, I believe.
