Historically, it is a pretty scary listing.

When only Luke Kuechly stands out as an impact player, it is important to recognize.

In another system, I might consider Jack at 4.

In our system? Forget it. Months ago I was kind of against the QB, but now, I am hoping Goff or Wentz is there at 4 and the front office loves the kid.

That is a pretty significant observation. In this system. In Marinelli's system.

Unless he is a weakside linebacker, I fail to see how he would be the best selection.

I realize some might believe his coverage abilities are Urlacher-ish, but I think he is far more of an athlete than a cerebral player. Urlacher was a very intelligent player.

Mayo has been solid.

I think a non rushing LB could be a top 10 considerion if you run a Hybrid scheme and they have to be able to play multiple different positions and styles from gap thumper to deep zone to sideline to sideline. Players that can do that are important to those schemes. But other then that I do see the value in a more traditional 4-3 or 3-4

Urlacher was also a safety in college. Jacks coverage skills are on what Urlachers were coming out

If we were a 3-4 defense, I'd consider a LB at 4.................. but it would likely have been Jaylon Smith before he got hurt.

So at this point, go QB or maybe hope someone gets stupid and gives us a Herschel Walker ransom for the 4th pick. I might be swayed by Ramsey at 4 too, I guess.

Now can I get a list of all of the busts drafted before pro bowl caliber LB's because they were premium positions?

Just stick to your board and draft the best football player available...QB is the only trump card that would make you "reach." So basically determine if/how many potential franchise QB's are in this draft and if 1 is available at 4 you take him, if not you don't think twice about taking the best defensive player available...regardless of position. Unless there is another offensive player that emerges of course, but I don't foresee that happening.

Honestly other then QB the only other player I would consider at 4 is Spence. Id consider Bosa if we ran a Rex Ryan type scheme. Great fit for a mutliple front scheme that will move him around. Dont think he is quite as good as a traditional 4-3 DE. Spence to me is the best pure 4-3 rusher on the draft

If he (Spence) is already being compared to Von Miller and Khalil Mack, he should be considered a top-five pick.

Depends on if he interviews okay and can assure GMs etc. that his Ecstacy issues are not a problem. Tough to call him top five without that hurdle being clear.

I agree, but if I'm not mistaken, didn't Miller also have an issue with (weed, MJ, mota, hash, Peruvian Gold, reefer, caca or whatever you want to call it) before he was drafted.

Jerry is treading on dangerous ground, fans wont forgive him ever if he passes on Goff for a WLB and Goff tuns into another Rodgers.that may knock us off the most valuable team pedestal because fans will finally had enough.you better be sure about these QBs Jerry.

Hardly.

Fans have been forgiving him for far bigger errors for years.

He could be our potential franchise QB,the chances of us having a crack at a top QB in the draft could not come in another 20 years. We will be in QB purgatory if Romo goes down permanently this season for who knows how long.,the might break the camels back.

That's why you can't take a LB that early IMO. Ro was a physical freak and that didn't work out.

Bourland, Zach Thomas, Burfict, and others were all found in later rounds.

Give me a tackling machine that knows football and forget the measurables! Like the kid from WVU.
