Sunday gave us yet another game of offensive frustration for the 2015 season where it seems that nothing has gone according to plan. Now, this one, in which the Cowboys were playing with their 4th starting Quarterback and without their opening day plans at both Running Back and Wide Receiver, it would seem rather predictable that they were not going to light up the Buffalo Bills in Buffalo a few days after Christmas. One might have aspired for 7 points or more, but in a season that has been marked with 4 occasions now where the team has failed to score more than a touchdown (New England, At Tampa Bay, At Green Bay, At Buffalo) it should hardly surprise us at this point.

You have heard all of the facts. This team is now starting its 4th Quarterback in which the one that might have engineered the least hope-inspiring performances of them all - Brandon Weeden - is now enjoying some harmless trash talking of Jerry Jones on his way to the playoffs.

but I had it on great authority that part of the reason Weeden was a mess here is because the coaching staff was in his ear with the constant charge of checking the ball down. Over and over again. And he did. -Sturm quote

I really like Strum. I feel like I lean a ton every time I read his articles. That said he is pretty harsh on our offense which looks bad from a laymans perspective but is even worse when you read what Strum has to say. Even I could call run/pass defense using this pattern .........

But, the more you watch this team, the more you wonder if the offensive coaching this year during a QB crisis was a major part of the issue.
Yet again, if there is a tendency that does nobody any favors, it is the Cowboys run/pass tendencies continuing to match-up every week with the Shotgun/Under Center formations. Under Center, the Cowboys ran the ball on 23 of 26 occasions.

From Shotgun, they passed the ball on 28 of 29 occasions. Gee, do you think the defense has a pretty good idea of what the plans are for the Dallas offense these days?

Yeah, check out this gem:

"Somehow, as you look at the 10 longest plays on 3rd down this season, Kellen Moore has 4 of them in just 7 Quarters at QB. That makes no sense (thanks to ProFootballReference):"

Great reporting as usual.

Has anyone followed up with the Dallas staff about the 1) coaching mess with regard to the back ups? 2) the continued glaring tells from from there formations?

Ask the questions please.

Solomon Wilcotts was on NFL radio this morning, he called the Texans game last week and said he talked to Weeden in the production meeting. Weeden told Soli that he played exactly the way Garrett and Linehan ordered him to play. He said he just followed what he was told to do.

Wilcotts went on about how lousy a coaching staff must be in Dallas where they couldn't coach the team to win more than one game without Romo. He said Romo was not the only problem in Dallas, Garrett was just a big a problem.

No worries. The scheme and play calling is fine. We just need our players to out execute the opponent.
Forget the fact, the other team players get paid too.

Yeah everybody is great at calling things in hindsight. Last year when we were just as predictable bet it wasn't as much concern with the predictability. Most fans are just too fickle. Its not just you I just happened to quote you but overall fans always using their hindsight lol.

This team certainly isn't doing well at all in the area of developing QBs. Perhaps it's high time to seek another QB coach.

What's it going to be then, eh?

Well, the only conclusion from that is Weeden is a liar.

And forget the fact that other teams know EXACTLY what we are going to do based on formation(s) alone. I have been saying this for years.

Do they even have a QB coach?

Anyway, this article by Sturm is poppycock. Everyone knows the only reason the offensive minds (and plays) of Linehan and Garrett are so predictable is because they expect their great WRs to win EVERY matchup on EVERY play. If they (WRs) can't create at least six feet of separation against NFL-competitive CBs, it's on the WRs and not them. Heaven forbid Linehan and Garrett get creative (in getting guys open) and unpredictable in their offensive (truly it is offensive) play-calling.
