I think this sums up well what many of us have believed:

He's not the answer.

He is very stiff,he makes Murray seem Luke Shady. The only silver lining is that he still has the speed and this oline will open up some big holes for him.

Someone made a great point about him looking like his two halves were 'fused together', essentially saying that his upper body looks completely different than his lower body.

The footage of him in shorts from OTA's really reinforces that point. He looks to have a weight lifter's upper body and a track star's lower body. Like a guy who's skipped leg day his whole life.

Looks like Sturm is saying McFadden will be the 3rd down back-- so, maybe he's 1/3 of an answer in regards to replacing Murray?

Im still in the camp that if he is healthy and gets used he will kill it and ill stick to that until I see him actually be bad on this team.

I'm on the other side of that fence. I'm in the camp where he has much to prove to me. Starting with being healthy (so far not good). He has to show me that he's capable of being anything other than terrible before I believe it.

I agree with Sturm.

I think he'll make a fine 3rd-down back, as long as he stays healthy of course.

Maybe, but I thought that's why they're paying Dunbar over $1 million this year? Do we have two third-down options with one starting option in Randle?

Dunbar isn't a blocker. Last guy you want handling that position.

Fair enough.

Health is really the only concern I have.

If we can get him into the 2nd level of a defense he'll kill it with his size, power, and speed combo.

Not arguing that, but if not there. where does he fit? Everything I've read on Ryan Williams says the same thing about him.

Trust me when I say it, I hope you're right.

I hope the guy takes the #1 role and 'runs' with it and leads the league in rushing.

I just can't trust in him.

What make's Sturm an expert.....He has a radio show...Big deal.....I would lay bet that he has never seem DMC play a full game at Ark..or Oakland...

He provided plenty of evidence to back up his position. Both in numbers and in visuals. Unlike plenty of other media people who do nothing but talk, Sturm backs up his position.

Sturm's numbers show all of those games that McFadden played in Oakland, and not just some youtube highlights where everybody looks good. And it clearly shows how 'everybody else' did a far better job than McFadden did.

People continuing to make excuses for McFadden don't have a leg to stand on. Sturm's analysis just kicked it out from under them.

I will give you that...but if he is using that joke of a team he played for in Oakland, I will pass and see if he can be the back he was at Ark....if healthy, I believe he will be....I will judge him on what he does with this team, not the black hole in Oakland..

No, there are problems will his analysis.

RB seasons of less than 100 carries should be removed from the ypc analysis.

For example, Randle had a 6.7 ypc compared to DeMarco Murray at 4.7 ypc.

In Oakland during the timeframe Sturm used, only Jennings had over 100 carries in a season and that was for 1 season.

I reviewed all of McFadden's games in 2014. There were plenty of good runs but Sturm didn't use those in his Gifs. I could make the same number of "Bad" Gifs of DeMarco Murray from 2014.

He's not the answer.

I think he was probably competition for Dunbar. Dunbar wasn't getting much done and there was no confidence in him. they are probably taking a chance in improving the 3rd string RB. I agree, Randle is probably the starter, with Williams getting about 10 carries a game, but cowboys aren't happy and will continue to turn every stone.
