So I am working out in Socal, and will be here for about 2 more months, maybe longer. I was trying to find a short term furnished apartment, but everything is 3500/month, maybe longer.

I started looking at Craigslist and am finding lots of listings for furnished sublets and even furnished rooms where I would have a roommate.

Has anyone ever done this? It looks kind of interesting to me - a departure from living alone, better pricing (paid for by company anyway). It just looks like it could be either a cool experience or a terrible one.

I've never sublet or gotten a roommate or anything from Craigslist - thoughts and suggestions appreciated.

If the company is paying for it, find yourself a nice studio as close to the beach as possible.

I'd say your chances on craigslist or any other place are going to be 50/50 that you find either someone really cool, or an f'ing maniac.

What part of SoCal?

Our office is in Glendale, so I'm trying to be in the Glendale/Burbank/Pasadena area. I would do the beach if it were convenient, but too much commuting. I work out of the office a lot, but I do try to get there in the morning everyday.

I am looking at some studios in Los Feliz - that might be an option. I am trying to find something for <3K per month.

The only thing I've ever purchased on craiglist is last minute SWA vouchers...
