Flozell keeps getting hurt. There's no telling what will happen with him. When you're that big, it's anybody's guess if he can fully recover and it's not going to help having to sit out with this other injury.

Fabini looked shakey but is starting to come along recently. We could have a different player late in the season than the one who showed up at training camp, but there's still the age and injury question mark.

Columbo, while he's looked good, the man is one of the few to recover from that type of career-threatening injury. Ya never know when he might suffer some setbacks.

Petitti is young and can improve but was very inconsistent at times last year. Ya don't know if you're getting a new and improved Petitti or a turnstyle on the edge.

McQ is the most promising tackle in a while but he's just that... a rookie. Dude wil have some growing pains.

Bill, just suck it up and keep all 5! It was devastating what happened last year with problems at that position. Best to not take a chance and stick with all 5, or it could mean the season.

No thanks. I either want us to cut Fabini or trade Petitti.

Never take a chance on the line, especially when you're banking on Drew Bledsoe as your quarterback. We'll have to bite the bullet at another position, but I say better safe than sorry. Too many wild cards at that position.

I'd feel much more comfortable keeping all 5, cutting Green, putting him on the PS if he clears, and let Rector return punts. If we get an injury to an OT we have the replacement and we can move Green to the roster.

Taking a chance has nothing to do with it. You can only have 2 tackles on the field at once and only 3 will dress on game day. Keeping 5 would be a waste of a roster spot.

If Petitti and/or McQ end up having to start we're in Deep doodoo anyway.

Well, Bill mentioned in his recent press conference that he was exploring the possibility of keeping all 5 so it's not entirely out of the picture. Who's to say McQ couldn't at least give us an 'okay' job by the end of the year. Petitti didn't look all that bad until we lost Flozell and teams could exploit at will.

i rather go short a safety with only watkins as a backup than cutting one of the tackles. i would think procter job would be on the line since he only plays guard but BP likes him a lot. relax, it won't be the first time we carry 10 linemen on 53 man roster.

Remember guys if it comes down to it, Kosier could be the 5th T. It seems silly to keep all 5... We're probably going to have to keep a kickoff specialist, it may be to the detriment to one of these tackles.

Ya know, I keep forgetting Kosier playing a little tackle. The only thing that I think would prohibit him for doing that is who plays guard? Gurode? Procter has come along but he's the only depth on the interior.

I never said it was out of the picture. I gave my own personal opinion on the matter. I wouldn't do it.

Problem is BP doesn't want to have to cut Fabini. Either cut him, or trade Petitti. My choice would be to trade Petitti, but I think BP, if he keeps 4, will cut Fabini.

So you'de remove a guy that would actually be dressing on gameday and replace him with a guy that wouldn't dress on gameday?

No thanks re Johnson at C. We saw what Johnson did last year at center and many of us moaned and wanted Cowboys to sign a vet center. Instead Gurode improved and has won the job. Playing Johnson at center for a game or so is okay, but not season ending replacement.

Pats carried 5 OTs last year and needed them all because of so many OL injuries including their starting OTs. We can still keep all the players most of us want and still carry 10 OL. But it does mean that both Green & Stanley go to the PS. Only problem is if we have to have Coleman on our roster so his suspension can began. If we cut Coleman, we can bring him back when we have an opening so he can serve his suspension then and then come back to team and contribute.

I have no problem keeping all five tackles. However, that would mean Vandy would most likely kick off.

Choose the lesser of two evils.

Nice of you to leave out all the info regarding that matter.

Were their Tackles injured to START the season?

Did they carry 5 OTs week 1, or is that how many they ended up carrying throughout the season?

Well if Kosier has to be moved to T and Gurode to G, making Johnson the C, that will be an emergency situation. It would only last for part of one game, and after that game you can bet BP will be going to the PS (if we have a guy there) or the free agent list or start calling up teams for a trade.

Like Rack said if that happens, we're in trouble. But IMO we have enough versatility to have sufficient contingency plans with 9 OL/4 OT.

Flozell keeps getting hurt.

Flozell has played every single game in his career up until he tore his ACL. He's been one of the most durable tackles in the league. If this were the regular season, Flo would be playing tomorrow.
