Cowboys were never going to sign a single decent free agent. They like to cover all their holes with $2-4 million dollar players instead of targeting a couple of holes with $10 million dollar players. Same ****, different year.
Just because a player is more expensive doesn't necessarily mean they'll be better w/the next team. If they were continuously good, they would of never been released/fired to begin with.

I dont know why we keep Woods. He wants a bigger payday and is obviously disgruntled. Theyre so dumb

Who cares we arent signing one. We will roll with Gallimore, Hill, Urban, Woods, Watkins at DT rotation. We may see a draft pick of a DT to add to competition. But we are done in FA at the DT position. So pointless to speculate or dream of anything.
Yup...I'd be shocked if we added anyone else. I think you got what we have now...and that's it. And...Greg Rousseau is the pick....and he's capable of sliding down inside on passing downs.

Also people need to realize the new contract with the NFL and Amazon....most players are only signing one year deals...knowing the league money doubles next year....and everyone is going to try and cash in next season.

Me neither lol. Probably a mid-round pick added to the mix but probably won’t win the “starting” job. Also, people act like this isn’t a 2 down position. Urban isn’t playing 90% of the defensive snaps and Woods is there as a solid backup.
Heard our new DL Coach was at Florida State's pro day yesterday. My guess he was looking at Marvin Wilson. Already know they have shown interest with Togiai. This is encouraging news!

Wilson runs likes he’s running in concrete, but yes encouraging! I like Jay Tufele a lot.

looks like Bucs resigned Suh, so thats 1 less DT off the board. who else is left, we cannot go in with Woods running with the 1's and no one behind him.

The good ones are taken already and the cowboys did not have much on the cap to begin with . the 22 million available cap is actually around 10-12 to allow them to sign the draftees . With so many needs on defense the cowboys could not afford to pay the top blue chip DTs 10-15 mill . So they did it by committee and numbers on the cheap and signed two defenders who are cheap becasue they just had ankle surgeries. Kind of roll the dice type of a deal . Very typical jerry stuff. Just like the Jalylon injury gamble which so far has been a big failure and a wasted #2 pick and lots of cap space. A sh--t show as usual.

Urban was the 3rd rated DT vs the run in 2020.

I think that's pretty good.

Looking at him im not seeing him playing DT accept on passing downs most of the time if not all of it was spent at the 5T in 3/4. am i missing something?

I see him more of 5T in Quinn defense

He is certainly better then those late rd prospects that Marinelli got excited over, that failed to even make the team.

Bucs are smart. Dallas is dumb. That's as simple as I can put it.

Yes.

It's not all about having a large-midsection and a frame that tips the scales at 320lbs plus.

Leverage can offer a terrific advantage also.

Look at David Irving. Another 6'7" guy at DT.

John Dutton was a good DT vs the run and he was 6'7".

Ernie Ladd at 6'9" and Buck Buchanan at 6'7" formed a terrific pair of DT's for the Chiefs.

OG's and Centers are not use to playing tall DT's.

The funny thing is that Urban is not a good pass rusher– He doesn't seem to have the burst or quickness for it.

TB is just behind KC in the SB odds. Of course players want to go to the SB favorites. They've got The GOAT.

LOOK at Brady's contract.

https://www.spotrac.com/nfl/tampa-bay-buccaneers/tom-brady-4619/

Are you kidding me? Even his voidable years aren't high. LOL the best quarterback in the league is an insignificant cap hit to his team. I don't know how long his body can continue to play at a high level, but the Bucs are going to be a menace for as long as he does.

Not only do the Bucs have an advantage at QB, but Brady is stacking the deck in his favor to give himself the edge for when he has to go up against other teams with elite QBs. If I still gambled, I'd put money on the Bucs, and feel confident.

With his long arms you would think he could cause some pressure though.

Bwahaha! I hadn't seen the new contract. Brady wants to win. Even at an honest contract of 25mil, Brady was a deal for cost and a huge boon for bringing other players cheap. They're just squeezing a little more juice out of him now that they've proved the formula works.

Now *this* is how and when you sell out the future. When you've got a contender and want to keep it going as long as you can, doing everything you can to squeeze out every cap edge you can.

We are *far* from this. We need to build up a contender before we consider selling out. When you're a contender in good shape, then players will help put you over the top with cheaper contracts and better behavior.
