I like his answer about Cabo because he did nothing wrong.

Romo will bring a championship to Dallas one day.

I'm confident he will DC.

Watched the Giants replay today. Even in a weaker game by Romo's standards you can see how special he is.
He just makes plays other QB's don't.

His 0-2 playoff record is hard to comprehend. He's just too good to be 0-2.

Pure speculation -- several players suggested that we didn't take the Giants seriously (Romo didn't know who we would play when he left but they were pretty much the best team we would have been facing).

Folks can say he did nothing wrong but frankly, we don't know what would have happened had he stayed in town. Certainly he could have done without the media scrutiny that week.

Romo didn't do anything wrong in going to Cabo. Really doubt he'd have completed another pass or not thrown that INT just because he didn't go to Cabo. Besides understand that the coaching staff, at least some members of it, knew about the upcoming trip and didn't have a problem with it. If Cowboys had won, the trip would quickly have become a non issue. Having said that, I do think Romo is learning that he's got a bullseye on his back & the media will always be watching what he does and who he dates.

The reality is that Romo has quickly become an extremely high profile NFL player. It comes with the territory of being the Dallas Cowboys franchise QB whose played at an extraordinary level in his 26 games as the starter. That so many football fans & analysts already consider him one of the top 5 QBs in the NFL despite not yet winning a playoff game also says a lot about the expectations he faces. His single status along with his likeable charismatic personality, good humor & quick/snappy response ito certain questions makes him a media dream interview. It also allows him to transcend the football & sports world to become a legit celebrity whether he wishes to or not. If you think he's hot now, just wait until he wins his first playoff game & his first Super Bowl.

BTW: Good interview. I've watched many QB interviews; most of them (think Eli) are so extremely boring. Sometimes I think colleges make a point of producing QBs without a personality. Romo comes across as genuine & funny--a guy you'd like to sit down with & talk about football for the rest of the afternoon over a couple of beers.

Exactly.

I love the way he keeps giving Werder **** about his hair cut, lol.

I loved it when Tony flipped it on Ed about our team full of criminals: "Hmm, and how many of them have gotten in trouble after joining our team?"

And I believe Tony was referencing the Pro Football Talk "Turd Watch", in which no Cowboy has any "Turd Points" since that point system started in 2006. We're the only team in the NFL that can say that.

I'll watch the interview later, however I still think (as I thought then) that he shouldnt have went...I cant see bigtime leaders/winners like Aikman, Elway or Montana doing something like that a week before the biggest game of their life (to that point)

I do agree he'll win a championship though, and I'll bet its this yr...this team is loaded

Have you ever thought that they probably did do something like that but we didn't know about because of the way the media is in 2008 as opposed to 1992 and that those QB's weren't dating a Jessica Simpson-type.

You are right in that he gives a very good interview, it is the questions he is asked that make it a mess. How could that man keep beating the dead horse of "Yes, but what about all those criminals on your team?" He might as well have asked something about Jessica it would have made more since and at least have been entertaining. But it would have been best if he had stuck to Football questions. And stayed away from personalities. Tony is always going to be the good guy and say nothing bad about anyone. Especially the "Church boys" on the team.

He's 0-2 in the postseason now.

He'll have a winning record by the time the year is over ;)

Yeah, you would never see Tom Brady go to New York with his girlfriend the weekend before his divisional playoff game.

And you'd never see Brett Favre go to Mississippi to be with his family the weekend before his divisional playoff game.

Oh wait. Both of those things happened this year, huh?

But since their significant other isn't a pop star, nobody cared.

I wish more athletes responded to idiotic questions like Tony does. ESPN is in the business of trying to create controversies that they can then cover to death. The truth is that the Cowboys have been very boring off the field for some time now. As for Cabo, that was meaningless. We lost to NY because of a busted coverage and a terrible 2 minute drill. We had the ball at mid-field with 1:51 and a timeout and ran out of time. The experience will only help Romo next time.
