Lions lost today and now I get to talk smack at work Monday. Yes, I got a HUUUUUGE freakin Lions fan at work, that literally WILL NOT SHUT UP about being SB bound and blah, blah, blah...!

Not really. They're pretty obviously not a very good team, in my opinion. They're very beatable by AZ, DET, CHI, and DAL if we have Ware and Lee in the lineup. That said, they do look to have the inside track right now. Only by default because we're trotting out a second-and-third string defense.

This team will only go as far as the offense......and the offense is terrible right now.

Gotta fix that 3rd down offense, immediately. The defense has been awful, partially b/c of scheme limitations, and mostly because of injuries. We'll get a bunch of guys back this week. Trouble is, with Ware hobbled and Lee out, I'm not sure how much it matters. Gonna have to put up points against this pick-pocket's row of bad teams we've got left on the roster.

Anyone know what the updated prognosis is on Rodgers and when he's likely to return? Cowboys-week, probably.

That's about how they started against us, too, if you'll remember.
I'm really interested to see how this SF/NO game turns out today. Should be a great game, and give us a good sense of how we actually stack up against the contenders in this league, one way or another.

Not well at all. I'm not overwhelmed with the SF offense, in general, so it's not really a vote of confidence that the Niners didn't look that good, either. But our defense is obviously not in the same league.

I don't know quite what happened to this offense. In previous years it seemed like it was just our red zone effeciency that was lacking. I remember when this offense use to get stuck with a 3rd and 20 due to a penalty or a sack and would get that 3rd and 20.

Now a offense shouldn't be considered good or bad if they can get 3rd and 20's but it sure seemed like we use to have a lot easier time getting those than we do now just trying to get a 3rd and 5.
