They got hurt just as much back then, there was just less concern about player's safety and well-being for life after football. There was more of a "if you can stand up you can play" mentality. Troy Aikman would have spent Super Bowl 28 in concussion protocol via today's rules. Imagine how history would have been revised if it was Bernie Kosar winning that game for Dallas.
I really believe we would have won bigger Troy was really off that game

The players are much stronger today which makes more injuries. Where do you get the fancy calculator that comes up with those figures?
because back then you could really tee off and lay wood
todays game is near touch in comparison

Only in the first half. In the second Emmitt kind of took over so the pressure was off Troy at that point. He got better as the game went on. But we're getting off topic here haha.

I just had a wild thought with the Chargers staring at 0-6.

Watch the Eagles swing a trade for Justin Herbert.
How can that be? They have a wonderful Harbaugh, great NFL coach. Gets paid tons of money. Even won a championship in college. Then he came back. Big hopes, big talk. Yeah, I didn't think anybody saw that coming. There's a lot of disappointments in the league right now. How did the Rams just lose to the Cardinals? Are the Rams below 500 the front runner for the Super Bowl? Just curious how that feels. The Eagles also probably had higher hopes this year. I'm betting the Texans thought they were making a big step. I might be leaving someone out, maybe Seatle Likely a little shocked on how Sam Darnold's playing right now. I mean, they're not playing like Super Bowl champions.

but yeah, there's some big hopes and dreams that started out at the beginning of the year that people are now trying to reorganize.

That's the difference between organizations. Rams are 2-4, but odds are they'll get on a run. If the Cowboys fall to 2-4 tonight, season over.
I understand why you would see it that way. I really do. I mean, if I had to be honest, I'd probably say that might be true. But counting out the Cowboys not turning things around in a division this weak? Right now. I mean, they have a possibility too. They're in a weaker division. The Rams are not. The Rams are in a tough division. I mean, even right now I didn't look but. I'm pretty sure. They have less of a chance with with division games that we do... Winning the division is an easier path to at least making the playoffs and being at your best during the playoffs. You know when they start, I don't know man. I think it's a toss up. They're digging themselves a hole in the wrong division...

I love watching the Rams stink it up. In last place in their division. It’s like the year Philly sold out and tried to buy a title back in the day and cratered. I hate the Rams almost as much as our division rivals. If you were a Cowboys fan back in the 60’s and early 70’s, you know why.

really think we would have rolled in the first half

I wasn't born yet. But I read where before the NFC Championship Game in 1975, the Rams PA announcer waited for the Cowboys to run out onto the field before announcing to the fans at the Coliseum where they could buy their Super Bowl tickets.

It pissed Dallas off and they routed the Rams 37-7.

Nope.

Muscle pulls and other assorted injuries were far fewer.

Players used to practice football back then. They barely touch the grass these days.

They are not stronger today than the 90s teams. If anything, they're weaker.

The hitting back then was far more violent, and the game had less injuries.

I do think the lack of padding worn today might contribute. Definitely the lack of practice time.

Today's NFL is sloppy and undisciplined.

Both of the Harbaugh brothers are having tough years

Chargers are lucky they have Jim instead of John. His coaching decisions for the Giants would have the Chargers at 0-7 after only six game
