Sunday games thread

Eagles have beaten Bears, 49ers, Denver, Dallas, Giants, Skins x2, Chargers. I'm just not convinced they aren't going to get exposed by a great team in January. It seems like it's a magic carpet ride that will end like Carolina's season ended two years ago.
i agree...but the only team left on their schedule any good is the Rams. I just see them tromping to a bye at this point.

And they had the Chargers when they hadnt figured everything out yet.

Even with that he's a far superior football player than Dez.
I don't disagree, i just don't think he is the greatest example of a #1 considering his troubles in the red zone.

Hopefully we can reap the benefits of a 3rd place schedule next year haha

I never got the Rod love. He is no different than the crappy Rob Ryan defenses that got him fired quickly. People like to associate this narrative that he gets the most out of scrappy players. Meh.

Right, he supposedly can motivate good play from crappy players, but then he gets crappy play from supposedly good players.:thumbdown:
What is wrong with this thinking....

I would say the same if the NFC had some good top heavy teams. There is a lot of good records but so many iffy teams. Are the Rams for real? Vikings? Eagles are just as good as any of the playoff teams in the NFC this season. There isn't dominant teams at the top like there have been the last years like Carolina, Packers or Seattle. And at this rate, the Eagles will probably get home field. You'd much rather play a team like New Orleans or the Vikings at home than in their place.

Blount...12 yards downfield before first contact...

He's got another TD, he may be getting back on track, definitely top 2 or 3 in the league.

Exactly. They are all one in the same to me. I can't tell any of the defenses apart on the field.
Different styles between Ryan and Kiffin/Marinelli.

Different players.

The only constant is the organizational focus. We just can't evaluate defensive talent.

Our own or college prospects.

Anyone trying to convince themselves the Eagles are just a product of their schedule aren't really watching games.

They are a legit contender. Now they might scuffle against NO or Minny in the playoffs but not because they are a fraud.

They are more talented and better coached than we are. Unless the Jones' make hard decisions this offseason about the coaching and their approach to personnel, we will be staring up at Philly for the next few years.

It's to the point now where I just hope Wentz doesn't win 6 titles to trump the Cowboys total. Keeping him under 5 might be a win here.

They are a good team...but to say they haven't benefitted from the easiest schedule in recent memory...is delusional.

They got a starless Cowboys team with two weeks to prepare for cripes sakes. They are now beating a hapless bears team with a green rookie at qb. Hardest game this year was Chiefs and they lost. Next hardest was Carolina on the road and only pulled away when Keuchly went down. Then Cam threw the game away not once but twice.

Next hardest was the Giants in like week 4 where they were a desperate team and won on a 61 yard desperation FG.

Their schemes and coaching are legitimate.

They honestly hold themselves back at times.

And no, let's not get into this player for player talent thing trying to say they are less talented than Dallas.

It is complete nonsense on a micro level like that.

They win because they are the right players for their scheme, they are well schooled and they play together. Period.

Don't care.

We were riding a three game winning streak a few weeks ago and I did not see anyone crying that we were playing poor competition in the Commanders, 49ers and Chiefs.

This logic is interesting because without realizing it you just pooped on the Cowboys 2016 season.

We benefitted from an easy schedule and were exposed as a fraud #1 seed. The exact argument you are trying to make for the Eagles.

And now I ssee Robby Anderson develop into a good player and make tough catches.

No player on our team could make the catch he just made.
