I agree. I hate those really long FG attempts where you have little chance. The opposing team gets great field position. You would be better off going for it or punting. With a FG, the ball goes to the other team at the yd line of the kick. If they just threw an incomplete pass on 4th down, the other team's field position wouldn't be as good.
