Horrible game by Love. There are so many levels to quarterback play in the league these days.

They could not really do that at all today and it did not matter. That is why I am saying it has not been dependent. Their defense is built around the fact that they have 2 of the best young corners in the NFL paired with a solid veteran CB to go with a big front 7.
This game was a lot closer than it should have been. I would not feel great about this win with 4 turnovers and basically given a TD with the opening kickoff.

Its funny how being a 2 seed is still almost the same as a bye. We are now through 6 years of the expanded playoffs and the 2 seeds are 11-1. I am trying to think if any of those games were even close. I know the Bills made a habit of blowing out 4 of those opponents. Perhaps going to 7 seeds has not actually worked out well for the product.

Because the 7 seed lost big? As I remember it, that's not always the case.
Because teams that rightfully did not make the playoffs before are now making it. The previous system used to keep out teams with "good" records but lost important and tough games. Yeah, you had crappy divisional winners at times but they still won the division. You then had 2 wildcard teams that were, generally, good not great. Now injury riddled mid teams are playing.

Philly will get exposed eventually they did not live up to expectations imo
If the Eagles think Hurts will get them a title...they are mistaken. Especially running that read option offense. Hurts will get injured eventually....Exposing your QB to injury is just dumb football....But that's the direction the league is taking.

Money money money.

I kind of agree with you....but my gripe is the reduction of 1st round BYEs to 1.

The bye is such a HUGE advantage....it almost dictates what the superbowl will be before the playoffs even start

I'd rather have 2 byes per conference to even out the advantage, so that the 1 seed doesn't basically have a golden ticket to the SB, or, eliminate the byes....but you can't do that with odd # teams. Would rather keep it 6, but if not, would prefer to increase it to 8 and eliminate byes altogether....and let home field advantage be the prize for #1 seed.
