Sunday Ticket Coming to a Computer Near You

Nobody should pay more than $150, and certainly no more than $200 for Sunday Ticket (Superfan Included).

The price keeps going up because alot of football diehards pay it. I'm one of those diehards. Living in Ca it's the only way I can see the Cowboys every week. NFL Sunday Ticket put DirecTV on the map.

It feels kind of good to give you guys a new word.

I'll be throwing that out at every given opportunity just so people ask me what it means.

I thought BOHICA was just a meme used on a video gaming board I frequent. I wonder where that originated from now.

Edit: According to wiki, looks like its old military slang.

I do agree with you guys though, the price of seeing NFL games is going through the roof. First it was having to pay through the nose to attend a game, so now a lot of hard core fans are priced out. And now they're going to keep increasing the price of seeing NFL games in your own home till they bleed every cent they possibly can from you.

At 370, it's too much for me to pay. Not that I can't afford... I can, easily. But at some point you have to say "no". So I'm just going to watch free network games (DVR'd unless it's a cowboys game so I can skip the commercials), and stream/download the rest. Hopefully enough people pirate their NFL content until the NFL decides to be more fair with their pricing. It's the only way, really... because going without football is just wrong.

Not the same as watching it on a big Plasma in HD.

It is expensive but to me it is worth it, being able to watch any game you want all season long and never missing the Cowboys play is worth the money but it is getting out of hand.

I love living in Texas and seeing them in HD for free! But I'll miss it next year when DTV is giving me the old deepnhard!

It is military. Along with SNAFU and several others.

I've always thought bohica was the funniest one though.

Yeah, it really has gone beyond reason.

I don't know who is more at fault DTV or the NFL. Both are raking in a killing but I am a little inclined to look at DTV as the primary culprit. NFL.com already has a subscription service for like $20 where you can watch every game on Monday in HD. At least they did last year. And they have this highlight maker software on the site where you can make your own highlights.

I tried making one for Ware a while back but never finished it.

And even if NFL.com didn't have that feature this year, you could still download a HD torrent of the game. Sure, you'd have to wait a day or two but if you can get a halfway good stream during the game, you're set.

$350 + taxes for an internet stream is insane. You'd be better off finding a buddy who has DTV and doesn't get Sunday Ticket and paying for it on his service and then watching online through DTVs NFL program they had last year.

Speaking of which: If DTV provides that online service to Superfan customers like they did last year and anyone wants to pocket $100 just let me know. I'll throw someone $100 if they let me use their account for the online player for the season.

I wish they would sell just a team subscription. $100.00 gets you the ability to watch 1 team's game every week. Would never happen but it would be nice. Part of me thinks this service will be cheaper once they go national with it but part of me expects it to stay the same.

In non-US markets, an internet subscription service similar to NFL Sunday Ticket has been available for several years.

The NFL's Game Pass "Season Pass" gives unlimited access to all regular season games and NFL Network 24x7, all season, for $239.99.

I don't subscribe to it. (I access U.S. TV via a SlingBox that's hooked up to a DVR located in a family member's DFW house.)

I've very close to doing the same thing.

Why would you pay full price when you can get it so much cheaper? That I don't understand.

Most of us didnt know you could just call up and complain and they will give you a discount on Sunday Ticket or Super Fan for free. I finally called and got Super Fan at no cost. Seems odd.

SlingBox is the best solution for me. For me, the video will get hung for 5 to 10 seconds from time to time, but the audio continues to stream. I live quite far away, though, so maybe that has something to do with it.

I work with a guy who has a house in Florida. He can't get DirecTV in Manhattan, so he uses the Slingbox in Florida for his TV needs. :laugh2:

I got all excited at the thread title. Then saw the price tag. That's just absurd.
