Super Bowl is still a possibility

You could've fooled me. It sounds like a funeral at our home games. Sorry.

Good teams can win with no one in the stands. Fans don't play the game.

winning is never a bad thing and having the possibility of going to the playoffs and possibly SB are always great

no reason we cant do it if we get our act together (i am talking about you jason)

Oh, okay, so we don't need fans? Gotcha.

Good teams usually have fans that cheer. Giants, Steelers, Falcons, Texans to name some.

When did Jerry Fire Garrett and Hire Sean Payton that the Super Bowl is on our radar. I must have missed the big news. :D

I want fans to cheer but bottom line it comes down to what players do on the field. Texans were a bad team for most of their franchise history, guess what their stadium was not winning games for them they sucked on the road and they sucked at home. Same with every team out there I can recall GB when they were one of the worst teams in the league and did not matter if they played on the frozen tundra in front of the home folks or not they were a bad team and they lost. Stadiums do not win or lose games for you players do.

The Super Bowl is still a possibility for the Cowboys this season.

Is it a good or bad thing that we're still in the race this point of the season? 4-5 is not a good record, but it's still acceptable given the oppositions records. It gives fans like me hope. But at the same time, the stage is set for another Cowboys late season disappointment. The Cowboys do just enough to stay in the hunt, but then fail in dramatic fashion...

And if the Cowboys are contending late in the season, that might give Jerry reason to keep Jason Garrett around. Whereas at 3-6, Jason Garrett would be all but gone.

I still feel excited though. The Super Bowl is a pipe dream. But there were so many times this season that this team felt inept, this team felt so horribly coached, the players were making stupid mistakes, nothing could go right... and yet here we are, middle of the season, and the Super Bowl remains a possibility. Being a fan of a consistent 8-8 team leads to some bipolar ways of fandom for me. Anger, frustration, then excitement, hope. It's an endless cycle. :(

LOL........and you still have a chance to make it in life. LOL

So you are saying there's a chance? lmao!!!!

I didn't say that the Super Bowl is likely. No Cowboys fan should expect to win the Super Bowl... I'm just saying the Cowboys are still in the mix for NFC East title contention AT THIS POINT. That will change from week to week. That's the way of being a Cowboys fan... Things look bright one week, then when you expect the team to come out strong, they fall flat on their face. It's an endless cycle.

Let's just focus on winning the division first. I think that's what makes teams like the Giants last year, the Packers two years ago even though they didn't win the division. They focused on either winning the division or getting to the playoffs first. Once in you can set your sights on the Super Bowl.

Well, if you make the playoffs, the Super Bowl is possible. I didn't say probable, I said possible. I don't think we'll make the playoffs, but with how crappy the East has turned out to be, who knows. We've finished the toughest part of our schedule and the Giants remaining schedule is a killer. Plus, they're playing like crap as well. Who would have thought the Giants would've won the Super Bowl last year when they were sitting at 7-7? Do I think we have a snowball's chance in hell? No, but I guess anything is possible. We need to get Costa and Murray back on the field.

Yeah, but that's usually not the case for us. We have talent, but our fans don't get into the games like other fans do with talented teams.

My point is I'd rather have the crowd cheering for my defense on third down rather than them sitting there twittling their thumbs. They do that in Green Bay and in other stadiums.

That's where you're correct. It would be easier if we would just downright stink or be excellent. This generational tepidity is killing a lot of us. In fact, I would venture to guess that most fans are apathetic at this point, not wanting to "believe" because our hopes and dreams have been dashed for so long. I know I'm that way.

I think I even saw the apathy begin in Romo for the first time this past game while watching him on the sideline. It almost looked like he had accepted his fate to be the leader of a mediocre team that sometimes couldn't fight their way out of a wet paper bag. Then his instincts kicked back in and he made the plays he needed to in order to keep the team in contention.

It reminds me of the bible passage that says, "I know your works: you are neither cold nor hot. Would that you were either cold or hot! So, because you are lukewarm, and neither hot nor cold, I will spit you out of my mouth."

Lukewarm is especially dangerous with a guy like Jerry Jones as it keeps him believing that there is hope with him at the helm. It also keeps you in the middle selections in the draft, keeps Jerry thinking that they're one "playmaker" away from greatness so he reaches or makes poor trades, makes okay players look better than they are which leads to premature contract offers that are too high for the player's value, etc... The list goes on and on.

Can't be quoting Bible versus on here homie.

Texas Stadium was not all that loud. I like to see the crowd being louder myself but it is not what wins games, executing plays win game. You go out you execute then you give yourself a chance to win. Cowboys have some issues but fans are at the bottom of the list.

Hey, we signed Ernie Sims and Charlie Peprah off the street. That means, you know, like--CHAMPIONSHIP and stuff!

Sims has looked pretty good thus far. Looks like a good pickup to me.

Don't know why everyone acts like the Super Bowl isn't possibility. When you look at it the Cowboys are 4-5 right now with a very soft schedule remaining. The Giants are quite the opposite. They're only a game up on Dallas in the loss column with a brutal schedule left. The Cowboys are in a great position to win the division. If that happens and they're in the postseason and hosting a playoff game then there's absolutely no reason this football team can't win a Super Bowl. Literally anyone who makes the playoffs has a shot.

I think most don't want to talk about SB at this stage. Cowboys have way too much work they have to do before people start even talking playoffs let alone SB.

When your record is sub .500, when you are 4-5, .. there are no gimmees on the schedule, and no schedule is soft.

When you are 4-5, teams are looking at you as the soft part of their schedule.

super bowl is out of the question, right now

finishing with a 8-8 is record would be an accomplishment

It makes you wonder, if we start to look competitive for a playoff spot in a few weeks, if they might not bring in a FA WR?
