Super Bowl "rigged"?

Ya know it sure does make things look funny when there were many occassions when Seattle was going in to score or coverting a 3rd down only to have a flag thrown to call the play back. I don't know if I'd go as far as saying the game was rigged, but these refs sure looked like they had their own agendas tonight.

Also how come all the commercials showing players holding the superbowl trophy was 90% Steelers?

I agree there were some 'questionable' calls that went Pittsburghs way. But no way is this league fixed.

Because if it was golden boy Manning would have won 3 championships by now. They almost gift wrapped the steeler game for him a few weeks ago.

Yeah. That was wierd. I thought to myself, wow they're all Steelers players holding the Lombardi trophy in the first half. They probably will show all Seahawks players in the 2nd half. Well, nope. I think they showed Hasselback only and then mostly Steelers again.

You've got to be kidding me.

I didn't say they were or they weren't, I'm just looking for people's opinions on the possibility.

And before you say that it's impossible, look at the international scandal about fixing soccer results.

Reminds me of the buildup for the NCAA championship game where just about everyone considered the game merely a coronation for USC before Vince Young ripped it from their hands.

Well they tried with Manning but he's too big of a choker to take advantage, thats the first NFL game i've ever seen that made me think that maybe refs do try to rig games

The NFL should be investigating this game (though there is no way that they will ever admit it) and this entire crew should be fired. Four calls on critical plays all against the Seahawks with Al Michaels and John Madden both calling them “questionable”…as was I.

I am so disgusted about the way this game was officiated that I am going to have to re-think my interest in the NFL game. Maybe College Football is a more pure and uncorrupted form of the game.

you just need to buy a few refs. but it felt like all the refs were bought in this game.
this game makes me not want to watch the nfl anymore. i think i am completely wasting my time.
i like the days when it was a blow out and stuff like this didn't matter.

I don't think anyone was paid off, but it is unfortunate that so many weeks of football were played only to produce a paper champion. This Pittsburgh team will be the least remembered Super Bowl winner of all time.

Wow! You guys spend an entire season railing on Skin fans for whining about the refs (which, admittedly, they have) and then watch the Super Bowl and talk about how bad the reffing has been all year?

go around different message boards and almost everyone is talking about how horrible the refs were, even some Pitt fans admit which is amazing

I don't think the refs kept the ball away from Shaun Alexander..you know, the NFL MVP?

I don't think the refs punted into the endzone 4 times.

I don't think the refs ran that 2 min offense at the end of both halves.

This loss falls squarely on the shoulders of the Seahawks. They had their chances and really should've won that Super Bowl.
