It's exactly what we thought we were getting. He wasn't a top 5 or even a top 10 pick. He was a late 1st rounder that we knew wasn't going to come in and start throwing guys around.

The draft is about the future. I guess some forget that. Instant gratification society we live in now.

There are never sure things when you pick at the end of every round. You end up taking everyone earlier than you would have liked.

Superhuman?? Currently? May be a bit much. Hopefully he turns out to be!!
The actual reference was strictly discussing what he’s doing in the weight room and wasn’t talking about on the field.

Fact is that you should never take a player that needs development in a serious way in the first rd.
Even a QB.
IT is clear he was always going to be a project
WASTING a pick in this way is bad management,
Are the idiots crying about too high expectations on this pick ready to acknowledge we could not have found someone equally athletic and so on later in the draft?

My problem with him is even if he pans out it’s still a bad pick because what he does just isn’t of value.

Now if he starts getting after the QB I’ll change my tune but I don’t see it.

IF he were to get six sacks a season I would fall over in a faint.
He was simply not worth even a late first rd pick no matter what is claimed about who else wanted him.

When someone tells you a player who is responsible for helping you win at the line of scrimmage just isn't of value, what they are actually telling you is they don't understand football.

Having said that, Mazi has had a bust rookie season. The entire draft class looks like dog crap.

Wasn’t he taken at like 26-27? DT’s take time like Olineman
But even with Tyler Smith we saw flashes and power in year one,….
So far Mazi looks just like did on the TCU tape in college…

Well Mr. NFL fake Internet GM ,

show us your credentials again this happens all over the league no one intends it to be a project but here's the problem we took him 27 that's about as close to the second round as you can get the fact is most people said he would probably not last till the time we picked again in the second round they took their player where they took him because of that scenario happening they wanted him maybe he is a second rounder but they had to take him at 27 it's not a big deal you consider the fact that the Eagles took Jordan Davis last year with the 13th overall pick and he had the same rookie year that Smith is having apparently that's what nose tackles do but at least we took him 27 and not 13 maybe you ought to see the silver lining and not the negativity because one thing you should come to terms with you're not a professional your opinion is just that telling a team full of highly season professionals that they should never do something is egomaniacal and ridiculous and you should stop right there.....

It's so out of control and ridiculous in here with the really oh I know it all I know it all I'm a professional social media poster and I am laying down the law lmao

Says you Mr. fake Internet GM know it all with your giant ego your opinion means nothing except for people reading it in here are gonna have an opinion about your opinion you're not an NFL executive in any way shape or form you're not a professional in any way shape or form so you could say what you want but no one's gonna take it to heart

I don't remember any true pure nose tackle played in the type of defense that we're playing ever to even get close to six sacks that's not their job,,, most nose tackles average about two sacks a year for their entire career if that but they always have slow starts like Jordan Davis did last year he put up a stat line very similar to mazi Smith.. He is nowhere near a three tech he is not a defensive end he is not gonna put up stats so you can keep saying things and we're gonna keep telling you they aren't true...

From someone who posts hundreds of words claiming he knows so much,
this is rather pathetic
Show us YOUR credentials why don't you?

We got a proven player NOW in Hankins for almost the exact same $ price we pay Mazi and then expect to have to wait til year 3 to see if he’s even as good as Hankins….which by then he will make over double what we are paying Hankins now…
Plus we used a first round pick on Mazi.

I hated this draft when it happened and nothing I’ve seen this far has changed my mind about it. I would love to eat crow in a year or two though.
