Surprise Pick at 20

Malachi Lawrence - Edge

Both would definitely be considered reaches but we are tied to both and it sounds like NFL are higher on them than media scouts.

I would need to know who else is available but Lawrence would make my ears perk up. Incredible upside.
 
I heard on a recent podcast that the Cowboys have hired a positional coach that was with him as UCF. They said, Lawrence could be in consideration at 20, but most likely more of a trade back pick.

Hearing 1st rd buzz about Stukes as well.
 
Stukes may preempted Theetheman as my favorite safety in this draft.

Yep.. These 2 are flying up the board right now..
 
IMO I think Lawrence is a late 1st rounder now. Not much of a reach at 20 anymore.

I think as an edge rusher, Law is a worthy late 1st round pick. Stock up talent at edge and let the best men win.
 
I don't think Lawrence would be a surprise there at all.

The only thing that would surprise me at 20 is one of those second-tier WRs, tbh.

Lawrence is probably a better prospect that the guys in the tier. His measurables are pretty similar to Brian Burns. It would be a good situation for him here because he would basically be the #3 this year, and would probably push Gary down the chart in 2027. This would be a pretty nice trajectory if Ezeiruaku keeps ascending

I saw a recent pod where Jon Ledyard had his as Edge 1. He was betting on the traits a bit but said he has the highest ceiling of anyone in the class.

I was lukewarm on him at first as I didnt think he was uber productive at a smaller school but after digging in a little more UCF appears to rotate quite a bit and he had significantly less snaps than some of the other guys we are talking about.

Its sounds like they have both picked up a lot of steam the last week or so.

They may be a big part of why we dont want to trade up and lose picks. I could imagine a trade down from 20 and an attempt to snag Lawrence then Stukes.
 
Most surprising pick at 20 I can think of? Max Iheanachor?
