It doesn't seem like there are many players who are "fliers" who could push players down to us. I am curious if any of you think a 3rd QB will sneak into the top 26 picks and help push a player down to us. I think it is unlikely, and that it is more likely that we would trade down and a QB be taken with our pick, rather than the foregoing. Any thoughts?

Jon Gruden thinks Garrett Grayson could sneak into the first round.

Can't see that happening. I think there's a potential for someone to take a flyer on him in the late 2nd, but it seems that front offices are becoming wise to overdrafting marginal talent at the QB position (EJ Manuel, Christian Ponder, etc).

I dont think a 3rd QB, but I can see someone like Dorian Green-Beckham, Nelson Agholar, Jordan Phiilips or Maxx Williams slipping into the top 25.

This.
A bunch of WRs could get snagged before us if we're lucky.
After the obvious and expected three (White, Cooper, Parker) there's plenty of interest in 4 to as many as 6 others.
Perriman, DGB, Agholar, Strong, and more...Devin Smith, Phillip Dorsett. All have been mentioned in the 1st at some point.
There's also a few LBs that could surprise.

You never know about QB. Especially since Mariota's destination is so up in the air. One of those teams that needs a QB could see value in moving up and getting their guy before the second round gives others a shot at the position.

Plus I think OL is going to be light since most of the top tackles project to guard. I think some of the guys like Brown, Phillips and Goldman could slip into the second as well. Corner is starting to look like maybe the second strongest position after WR so I'm preparing for a perceived reach at 27.

Is anyone else concerned that not one DT has visited Valley Ranch? What if one or two of them fall to us, will Dallas draft elsewhere ignoring the middle?

I would like to have had a few visit but I think they still have some spots left for visits.

We haven't been lucky in the order players have been picked the last couple years according to our hopes and needs.

But we have been lucky that we were ready to draft players like Frederick and Martin.

Very nice list...I can see DGB goin too SF they've shown interest, Fisher possibly Philly, Irving too KC makes sense. I think Armstead is projected top 20 tho on most boards 6'7" freak.

Isnt RB one of our biggest needs? How would a run on RBs help us out?

We did spend like 25% of our visits on RBs, so if the team doesn't think RB is a big need, why the hell did we waste all our visits on RBs?

I think he's referring to the depth of this draft. A run on 2-3 rb's in the first would probably push a defensive player to our pick, that may not have fallen otherwise. Then, with the depth at RB in this draft, you can spend a 2nd or even maybe a 3rd on a back after getting a "steal" on a defensive talent in the first.

In all my many years of watching the draft, I've learned that things that we do not anticipate to happen, occur with relative regularity. Perhaps that is part of the draw to watch it.

Brown is the only 1 that might fall to 27 that they would draft, IMO.

They can't have all possible player in for a visit that might fall. I assume that they are doing the due diligence in the background on the non-visit type players. They hired a company to mental makeup evals on players. This started a couple of years ago at the request of Garrett. My understanding is that this company does an eval on all players.

It does bring up a good question about how they decide on which players come for a visit. They had some players in that project as late round picks. They've had about 120 on their draft board the past couple of years so they obviously can't bring them all in.
