I was surprised when I looked this up today:

Dallas is 8th in yards allowed (325 yards per game)
Dallas is 5th in points allowed. (17.7 per game)

It's the lack of turnovers that's been what has kept us from a better record. And the lack of elite pass pressure. The good news is that both of those things were present against the Eagles.

The standard deviation of yards and points is high for cow it's defense. What does that mean? It's feast or famine. That's a big tell tale sign

Can't win if you don't score points.....and I'm not talking about Garbage points.
Our defense can hold its own as long as quarter to quarter our offense can keep up.....

They are 10th in pressure percentage (pressures per QB drop back).

T-RO I know you brother. You're better than using bulk points and bulk yard against.

The stats are decent because the team is pretty good. Unfortunately they don't have that beast mentality to match their talent.

For some reason the loss to NO didn't really bother me. I'm not sure why neither team seems to be able to score when we play. The Packers game ticked me off, but that could be just because it was the Packers. I don't think I'll ever get over the Jets game. That team flat out sucks, yet we lost to them.

And the lack of pressure is a little baffling since Quinn and D-Law are among league leaders in double team and win rate. Hopefully, Bennet makes a difference.

It can be explained this way: when we have the opponent in obvious passing situations, we dominate, and with Bennett, the pass rush will be even more dominant.

The problem? Teams can run the ball against us. Even with three stud pass rushers on the defensive line, if teams can run the ball down your throat then you’re not going to generate many turnovers.

And what’s frustrating about that is that it isn’t a new problem. The L.A. Rams exposed this defense in the playoffs and yet they did absolutely nothing to fix the problem .

so Dak has a great defense and a great run game and great receivers and a great coaching staff

so why are we 3-4?

We're 4-3 with another dog coming up. We are a product of an inept passing attack when we face real defenses and they stop Zeke.
Just remember the Packer game and wait for Garbage time to start producing points a day and dollar short!

Oh, I prefer the more advanced stats, no doubt. But average yards per game and points per game gives one a general perspective.

The ranking of our D is certainly boosted by the propensity of our offense to hog the field The Boy's D is 12th in yards-per-play and I suspect that's a more accurate reflection. And no doubt we have yet to face any offensive juggernauts.
