I like Swaim more then a lot of people do. At Texas, the QB play was so widely inconsistent that it's hard to judge any of their WRs or TEs. The stat line looks bad when you see targets vs receptions but it's hard to catch when the ball is sailing 6 inches over your head or you need a short stop mitt to field the ball.

I think he could be Witten's replacement. As athletic as Escobar is I do not think he can pick up the finer points of blocking. If this kid can catch I think he could be ready when Witten hangs them up. Remember escobar's contract is coming up soon and the question is has he shown enough to warrant another one to replace Witten. That being said I can see Escobar going elsewhere like bennett and doing very well when he is used more as a receiving threat than a total package TE.

Yeah, he has more catching/athletic ability than I initially thought after hearing the draft analysts. He moves well, and can hopefully develop into a poor man's Witten.

It seems like highly recruited players go there and and never reach their potential. It has been said that the players are soft and I agree. It is s culture problem .
