Sweeps/draws/pulling line

Offensive creativity depends on the components utilized. Their best trick plays and fakes, seldom fool anyone.

Why can’t we run some creative plays. Sweep with pulling line. Screen to pollard. Our scheme is too vanilla.
Good point...beats all the hater posts around here.
I agree with you...we've had some OL turnover the last couple of weeks...hopefully, we can get some continuity going and get some of those schemes.

It’s a fair question but when a 10-3 Team plays inferior teams like the Texans and Jaguars one would hope that a heightened creativity level wouldn’t be necessary, If we are playing the Bills or Niners defense where we can’t beat them man to man, the creativity level would be heightened to compensate for it.

Agreed. Not sure if it's going to happen this season though, seeing as we've more or less been running the same playbook since 2008. Kellen draws up some creative plays from time to time which are pretty hit or miss, but I'm not sure he's up to the task of overhauling our running attack.

One thing they missed today is Steele's run blocking. Tyron cannot pull or get upfield and block anymore like Steele can.

Well you can't run out the clock and keep the lead if you're just running it up the middle. Once you have the lead that's when creative run plays are needed.

But not only do we not run these plays when we're ahead...we can't stop other teams when they run them against us. Our defense got there butts kicked by the Jags edge runs. Which slowed down our pass rush and allowed the Jags to hit a couple of deep throws. Our defense sucked in that game and our offense didn't help them out by establishing the run. Zeke and Pollard averaged less than four yards a carry.

all valid points. Their defense kept Pollard from hitting his home runs that we usually see from him. The Jaguars were well prepared and coached yesterday. Lawrence continued his development and we left with the L.
