I've been trying to wrap my head around Ryan Switzer's game and compare to other NFL Stars past and present.

Devin Hester: not near the KR, but a far more polished WR with better hands. Nope.

Danny Amendola: Better upside, far better return man. Nope.

Beas: I believe he will be no worse than what Cole is today.. Ultra-reliable, shifty, hands but a far more explosive PR. Nope.

Julian Edelman: plays with identical bravado, but needs to prove hands are as good. Switz gives you far better return ability... this is the closest WR skill set match, but Ryan will be a game-changer on ST's.

Kelvin Martin-underrated player, but Ryan has far more talent and is even more fearless. Nope.

Here is who I think Ryan can become:

Santana Moss.

Big play return ability. But Ryan is even shifter. Santana can stretch it deeper downfield than Ryan, but by mid-career S.Moss became a very good possession receiver which Switzer will be out of the box.

I think Ryan's upside despite size is WR2, and his closest NFL player comparison is Santana Moss.

I'm looking forward to seeing Switzer.
As a UNC homer and Cowboy fan, I'm certainly not here to diss him....

But Santana Moss was nearly the fastest player in the entire league for awhile. He was nearly two full levels of speed faster than Ryan.
4.31 vs 4.52

Most NFL DBs run as fast as Switzer, but almost none could catch up to Moss.
Plus he's 2 inches shorter than Moss and with a smaller catch radius.

Still looking forward to seeing him play though.

You guys are all going to kill this kids career before it even starts with this ridiculous hype. Because if he turns into a #3 WR/decent punt return guy it will be well worth the 4th round pick we invested, but apparently not good enough....Somehow. let's wait for him to at least play a preseason game please.

During the off season, and even before camp...it is healthy, to consider the extremes that a particular player could represent. Since when has it been criminal to have a wrong thought?

We all have to cut back from initial parameter excursions...all of us.

...and that "Believe" tattoo on his inside lip. :omg:

I really enjoyed seeing that during his draft day...and I saw a tattoo of the same, back when, on this site. Go figure that relevance, and loyalty!

But if excursions lead to incedinary ear percussions...check that...levitation, how can healthiness be represented by virtue?

If we're talking virtue of course.

Always insulting by intent...'what if's?' Creep on someone else...stud. Make plays on words for someone else. Or just step up and pay for your own box top decoder ring. Since you discuss in abstract and devoid in football relevance. Parameters do have value applied points in football views.

Or grab your own balls and start talking real football...if you aren't man enough to truthfully consider differing levels for comparisons...just keep that crap to yourself, then.

I don't give a damn if you like my word selections...

I got excited too. Now people are figuring him as a player who transtorms this offense.
Hey, that was Bucky Brooks... not anyone here.

I posted that article but I don't think he will transform the offense. I look for him to maybe transform the punt return game and contribute some on offense... but he won't be a staple on offense without some injuries, IMO.

If Witten went out for a few games with a high ankle sprain or something then maybe he gets significant time in 4 WR sets... but otherwise, he'll have a few plays per game to do something. At least that's how I think it'll turn out this season.

I'm not afraid to hear it described in either way...this all establishes parameters and touchstones going into camp.

On topic related observations, up front, I agree with you...but still remain excited for football reasons. I like the efforts by the players...and some of them do succeed.
