RB Synjyn Days – Georgia Tech

Height: 6’1

Weight: 230 lbs.

40 Yard Dash: 4.66

10 Yard Split: 1.63

Vertical Jump: 31″

Broad Jump: 9’08”

Bench Reps: 22

Initially, I was impressed by Days’ leg drive to move Florida State’s defense close to the end zone. That sort of power is what made me think he could be an enforcer at running back. But after watching this play again, I saw something that actually reminded me of Marshawn Lynch in Seattle (no I’m not comparing him to Lynch, so take a deep breath). Part of what makes Lynch so special is his ability to use the “power-cut” to quickly change direction, even after all your momentum is taking you somewhere else. Take a look at Davis here on that run:

Tim Newsome. Man, I hadn't thought of him in years.

It will be nice to see if he stacks up in t.camp. I'd love to see a big bruising back behind this line and yet a back with the cut abilty he shows. Wonder if he has any plays at blocking back at GT, pass catching abilty etc.......If I remember right Newsome owned some very soft hands

This is my one and only hope for Dallas to have the physical runner that the offense needs. I like smash-mouth, power football, and at the present time, there is not a RB on the roster that can play that style of football. If anything, this post exposes my total disgust with the RBs on the current roster.

Agreed. Days seems to be a potential short yardage/goal line specialist. Sounds like he was moved around a lot at GT and only recently made the switch to RB. I think he was a QB originally. I knew absolutely nothing about him until he was signed, and watching his highlight reel, I was impressed even though I noticed he did not have a lot of speed. Looks like he's hard to bring down though, great balance. Still a bit of a project player, but seems to be a worthy one.

Reading about him as a person, he sounds like a positive for the team. Obviously smart, going to Dental school, plus has the rep of a team player who doesn't mind doing the dirty work and he said he'd play any position. I think he has that Bill Bates thing going on, what he lacks in talent he makes up for in other areas.

I'm really rooting for this guy. I don't expect him to be a super star, but if he plays as well as Timmy Newsome, he'll go down as one of the big steals in this draft.

I agree somewhat, and I think Days will get a good look, but with the influx league wide of RBs, just take a look around the league at rosters and you will see what I mean, I believe there is just a good a chance of finding a better prospect once teams start making cuts.
There are going to be several excellent prospects other teams will be trying to hide on their practice squads that we can rob as well.
This draft was littered with nice RBs, and that flooded the market even more, devaluing the position even more than it was.
We dont have to even have our starter by the time the season begins,, damn we are spoiled cowboys fans.

2015 rookie RBs that are making rosters, there are even more including UDFAs, but this is just my list of roster makers...
Gurley
Gordon
T.J. Yeldon
Tevin Coleman
David Johnson
Jay Ajayi
Ameer Abdullah
Duke Johnson
Mike Davis
David Cobb
Jeremy Langford
Javorius Allen
Josh Robinson
Zach Zenner
Cameron Artis Payne
Matt Jones
Karlos Williams

You feel me?

I am on board for any tough, physical , smash-mouth RB. If Dallas cuts the entire bunch of RBs on the current roster , and signs a whole new bunch, I would be excited. I have zero faith in the current RBs style while running or health.
