This has probably already been brought up, but have they announced what the turf will be like for the new stadium? My guess is synthetic, but I'm hoping we have grass like they do in AZ. But then again, not sure the new stadium will allow enough sunlight to properly maintain grass.

Bringing in the old turf from the Vet.

I like new turf....but then again, im not a player.

However, I have heard the new turf is so much better than astroturf.

it causes rug burn way worse than grass...but less than astroturf

The new stuff is much better than Astroturf. That being said, I love grass. The way it looks, the smell of it, and the way it gets muddy when it rains. Football was made to be played on grass. That being said, I can live with the field turf.

I prefer real grass too but in AZ, the whole grass turf rolls out under the stadium outdoors to grow and water in the sun and then is rolled back in on the weekend for the games. Unable to do that at the new cowboys stadium since the field in 50 underground. But with the technology they have today, I'm sure they could of grown real grass in the new stadium but with all the events Jerry is going to fill that stadium with, a real grass field would of taken a serious beating and wouldn't be in A-1 condition for football games, that was probably the thinking for synthetic over real. We actually have three different fields, a soccer, college and pro football fields that can be changed out in 12 hours.

In Houston they have a field outside in which it is watered, cut and gets ample sunlight. It is then installed into the stadium the grass that was inside is rotated to the outside field.

As for which is better? Grass clearly is easier on the body and turf is a faster surface so it depends on want. Growing up I played on both and like many others I like grass over the turf except on rainy days where it turns into mud.

The stuff they have now with the rubber pellets is 1,000,000 times better than what they had when you played old man. :D

I'm really impressed w/ the new artificial turf, its come a long ways

those little rubber pellets get all up in places you don't want them, including your eyes, I hate the stuff.

I'm sure it is, we had green carpet on concert after about a year that turf was as hard as a rock you go diving on that stuff it would rip the hide right off of you. However I never found it fun playing on a grass surface that was coming apart due to heavy rains. There are pros and cons with each surface.

Roll out some indoor/outdoor carpet on top of concrete and play, you'll be begging for those pellets in your eyes.

I dont' know, I would rather bumps and bruises to stuff in my eyes, that is the worse ever for me, hurts, burns, I am walking around squinting for days.

Of course I am allergic to grass too, so really concrete might be perfect for me.
