Arizona Cardinals: The Cardinals have extended the contracts of four players, the team announced on Monday.

Starting defensive end Peppi Zellner, starting free safety Ifeanyi Ohalete and backup running back Troy Hambrick had contracts extended through the 2006 season. The contract of long snapper Nathan Hodel was extended through the 2007 season.

Zellner and Hambrick were obtained in a preseason trade with the Oakland Raiders. Ohalete was claimed off waivers from the Washington Commanders. Hodel has been with the Cardinals since signing as a free agent in October 2001.

Zellner has started all eight games for Arizona. Ohalete took over the starting job from Quentin Harris four games into the season.

Terms of the extensions weren't revealed.

Too bad terms aren't revealed -

Tham's is probably along the lines of a ham sandwich.

Probably vet minimum w/a signing bonus that won't break the bank.
Yeah, you are probably right.

And what am I doing laughing at Tham? At his point, I'll take him back. Almost.

WG.

What about Woody. Think he comes back next year?

Hopefully. But anytime you have nerve damage making you walk with a limp, you gotta think about your life after football. But who knows he could probably come back at a reduced salary for one last hurrah. You know how players always want to leave on their terms.

Is he walking with a limp?

Yeah that's why he isn't able to practice. His back is probably fine by now, but I think they said he damaged the sciatic nerve which causes him to lose feeling in his leg. And so he walks with a limp. His rehab is centered on that more than his back. The nerve damage came about cuz he was doing too much rehabbing his back.

some posters here who are physical therapists explained the slow growth of a damaged nerve - in term of months to regenerate a few inches.

there have also been reports that the nerve damage came about from too much or too strenuous rehab - that is just heartbreaking.

I really love Darren - he's the player who was here I took to immediately when I started following the Cowboys. I wish I had been following his career all thru it - I missed a lot.

Yeah me too. I took to Darren because of a hit he put on somebody so hard (I forget when, it's late) that he separated his shoulder. I mean you could see it because his arm immediately went limp. He had to sit out a couple games, but I never forgot that.

It also doesn't hurt that he's so cute. :D

If he pushes this he could be facing further injury.

Is it worth jeopardizing walking normally?
