It's hard to imagine what context those comments were said in. Seems like an odd thing to be joking about though; I didn't pick up on any obvious sarcasm. Remember, this is also coming off him saying the pre-draft process and training have helped him fall in love with the game of football, which was echoed by the receivers coach at Arizona.
That kind of sentiment is like telling your wife "you know, after drifting apart and going through these divorce proceedings, I've come to realize that I really do love you!"
With all that said, it's hard to argue with his production, especially back-to-back 80+ catch, 1,300+ yard seasons, love for the game or not.
