HTC's the only Android phone maker?

Cool, didn't know. I'm sure they'll the make record profits on giving away phones for free. Give me a buzz whenever Apple starts giving away phones for free in order to keep from losing customers.

No, they will just start losing customers and except it. It happened once and it will happen again. Life repeats itself.

btw, I'm sorry to tell you, but the Android phone makers aren't hurting. Apple isn't the phone phone maker who has profits going gangbusters.

Yeah, sure, I'll accept it. I wonder what will happen to this graph in 2011 now that Apple has opened its customer base up to twice as many subscribers.

While the market for smartphones is growing, it will continue to add customers. Once the market hits critical mass, Apple's sales won't only level out, they will start bleeding customers because it won't be able to keep up with Android's innovation. Just like Windows and Unix server operating systems haven't been able too keep up.

Thats what open source offers. Mass amounts of paid and unpaid developers working towards a single cause. That cause is going to make the iPhone a niche market phone just like OSX is a niche market PC operating system.

You still can't seem to snatch the pebbles from my hand grasshopper.

Read the chart again, we're talking about PROFIT share. Keep up, kiddo.

As for the smart phone market, less than 5% of all cell phones users currently have smart phones. None of the major manufacturers of smart phones really care about market share right now because they're not taking from each other -- they're largely just adding to the market at this point. When market share becomes a real issue, I'm sure what we currently consider a smart phone will be meaningless.

You don't even recognize the difference between market share and profit share, so I don't think I'll be learning anything from you any time soon.

I thought Tmobile was offering the Nexus S?

I've only seen Best Buy sell it with a 2 year contract from t-mobile. I went to t-mobile's website to see if they were offering it, but I didn't see it.

Called T-Mobile this morning and confermed the deals. I have had my eye on a HDC HD-7. Might pick one up Friday morning. :)

No problem.

I wish they would have advertised it more. I didn't see a single commercial for it. They did have the promotion posted on their webpage but that was it.

It was a great idea though. About 15 of my family/friends took them up on the offer, including a family of longtime verizon customers who went in to renew their contract and the verizon lady was rude so they switched to T-Mobile since I had mentioned I was getting a free phone this weekend. They need to do this once a year so we can keep upgrading free! :0
