Anybody know if T-New will be covering the #1 receiver? I can't go another year seeing A.Glenn covering Moss and others.

Newman is the best slot CB. Once in a while Glenn will still need to manage to not let the #1 receiver behind him.

A. Glenn has done a great job for us. I am very happy he is a Cowboy.

It's a shame when a 35-year old guy is your best 3rd CB... Those young guys need to develop fast!

Maybe next year..we draft someone.

Unless 1-2 of our younger CBs shines either in preseason or regular season, we'll draft a CB early on first day. I know most think/hope Cleveland's pick is high enough to get McFadden, but our need at CB is desperate. I'm just hoping our own first round pick can get us a good young CB who can take over for Glenn in 08 & even replace Henry when needed. Frankly I even hope we draft a 2nd CB (just like we did with OTs in 07) to give us some quality depth. Of course we also need to add a #1 WR to someday suceed TO, a NT behind Ferguson & a FS (unless Hamlin, Watkins or Brown are keepers).

Dallas used Deion to take the other teams #1 WR right out of the game. I really think we could use Newman to do the same. A healthy Henry is no slouch either- I would stick him on the other teams #2. Then have Roy roaming close to the LOS and Hamlin playing back to keep an eye on things.

For a corner, Terrence Newman's run defense is amazing. Heck - it's amazing for a defensive back of any sort. I don't know the numbers, but I'd imagine other teams have a hard time running against us when we match up against 3 or 4 WRs with Newman in the slot. Watching games from last year, even on the goalline, Newman is terribly disruptive at the LOS.

I think Wade has been playing him there alot in practice. If so, it's pretty clear that Wade values Newman's slot skills in coverage as well as run defense just as much as Bill did. Newman's our slot corner, almost always. It's an incredibly tough position to play, and he is fantastic at it.

Yes, if the #1 WR lines up wide right or possibly in the slot right on Nickel, Newman will potentially be covering him. If however the #1 WR is lined up left of the OL, Newman will not be on him.

Remember Dallas was extremely fortunate to have the great Darren Woodson covering the slot... That allowed Deion to do his thing.
