Yes, you are correct. There is about 25-30% of Cowboys fans who are upset about the TO and constantly whine and cry and whine some more and from the sounds of it you're included in that small percentage of Cowboys fans doing so.

*sigh* It's just great how a small portion of fans makes the entire Cowboy family look like a bunch of whiny, temper tantrum throwing cry babies.

I guess through all of this TO hub-bub, I ( and many more Cowboy fans too from what I can see ), have found that their blood is bluer and thicker than they already thought it was.

I have found that mine is.

I have never for one moment wavered as a Cowboys fan no matter what has happened in Dallas.

And I didn't blink when we signed TO.

That pleases me. :D

Lets see, we just signed the guy and:

We find out he has a book published that he apparently did not bother to enlighten the Cowboys about

The Tuna was not on board with this signing, not really a great thing when The Tuna is The Coach

Polls show many Cowboy fans very upset

Great past Cowboys have come out against this signing

And.......we have another month before the draft starts......

C A N C E R !!!!!!!!!!!!!
Cactus, you are entertaining as hell. :)

Tho I respect your 'no victory without honor' stance, I have to question the root of your opposition to Eldorado. Is it REALLY your conviction that he will be a cancer here....or something more personal?

I too had to examine my horror at the signing, and found that while I fully expect he will IMPROVE the team's chances, and perhaps immensely, his presence still goes beyond galling.

Because TO represents one of the, imo, worst aspects of modern life..the never ending lust for the limelight, the craving for celebrity, the need to be 'seen', 'heard', and stand above the crowd, I found it very hard to take a purely 'football' view of his signing.

Really, every time I witness a gauche shopper yakking private business loudly on a cell phone, forcing fellow customers to eavesdrop against their wills, every time I hear a booming stereo, spy an outfit so revealing it's fit solely for the beach, or observe an arrogant or demanding ego in any scenario, I think: TO SYNDROME.

Any time I notice yet another crass loss of reticence, and cherished reserve, another absence of the politeness that once characterized everyday life, or see needless grandstanding over miniscule success, observe yet another braying jackarse full of himself, or take stock of my own message board behavior, I am appalled.

TO SYNDROME has reared its ugly head again.

The uncontrollable urge to be 'looked at', the reality tv phenomenon, the sad conclusion that just to be oneself is to be 'nobody'..it's all part of the TO SYNDROME.

The real 'cancer' that Mr Owens represents so well is the growing blight on our body politic, the need to be noticed, to tell all, to worship the Paris Hiltons and the Bode Millers..to be seen, and heard, continually.

Poor TO just takes our own pathology to an extreme. He is disliked because we may become what he art, and the manic gleam in his eye as the cameras fondle his driveway workouts render us much too uncomfortable - how undignified would WE become under his degree of fame? Would we too lack all sense of propriety, all sense of shame, and out Jeff Garcia just because we had nothing else to say? :)

Look deep, Cactus, and I think you will agree the cancer you so rightly fear is not the one growing just on the team, but the monstrous tumour that has mishapen our national dignity and human grace. TO is the slap in the face to selfless behavior and the once common refinement characterized by reserve and refusal to 'tell all'.

TO is what we could be with tighter abs and a few seconds more speed. Constantly self-aggrandizing and attention voracious. A rabid wolf of publicity seeking. A walking tabloid blowing thru the streets of an X rated movie.

And of course, he has a BOOK coming out! LMAO!

Frightening!! :laugh2:

I challenge anyone to come up w/ the actual article or video or even link of Billy P saying he wasn't "on board" with the TO signing. Same challenge can be said of Dallas not knowing TO had a book coming out? are you serious?? They were talking about his book when he was still an eagle. Come off the whiny high horse, and quit this "guilty" untill proven innocent crap. TO is a Cowboy, the only concern we should have, is to hope that he holds to his word and doesn't destroy the team. TO the football player is the best WR Dallas has had since Michael went down. Anyone that denies that is a fool.

He won't be a cancer once he scores all those touchdowns, will he? Don't think so. Give TO a chance with Dallas why don't you. He got his money, now he wants to win a Super Bowl.

Does it really matter if my opinion of TO is different than yours? I hope he is not a problem for the Cowboys but there is nothing in his past to make me think that he can't or won't cause problems. You can be naive about this all you want but it does not change what has taken place with TO over the years. My hope like any Cowboy fan is that things work out and this team gets back to playing for championship but excuse me if I don't go into the TO situation with blinders on he will have to prove himself to many of us long time Cowboy fans and in the end I hope he does prove himself not just as a great player which I know he is but a guy who can co-exsist with others on the team.
